Brush: Shavemac Americana
Razor: Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip 'A4' w/ Gillette Blue Blue 'E2'
Soap: Valobra Cologne
Post: Thayers Rose, Aloe Vera Gel & (4711 Ice Cologne) Pecksniffs Men Professional

A nice shave today, inspired by @Bogeyman's thread in the Review section I used a Gillette Blue blade for the first time ever. I have wanted to use one for a long time but never got around to it, expecting a duff blade. It was a nice shave, not the most comfortable or smoothest blade I have used but given it's age it held up superbly. My curiosity has now been sated!

Valobra makes a wondeful lather, paired with the Americana and you're in lather heaven. The aloe vera gel is a great post shave, very cooling and calming. I receieved some 4711 Ice in the post today and couldn't resist a quick spritz before I put on Pecksniffs later, smells very similar to Nouveau Cologne with a wee bit of menthol.

Thur 20th April
RazoRock Syn. 22mm
Fauna-Sandalwood
ES Claymore S/S SE Razor
Schick Proline P-20 [ 6 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Myersol antesol A/S lotion

The more that I use these new Heavy SE/Injectors the more I like them. I have version 1 of the Claymore, version 2 is becoming available but only a little lighter. Will pass this time, as the Brass General I ordered has just arrived.
Todays Shave was really comfortable as the Schick blade is very forgiving, and I attained a nice close finish. The combo seems to come into its own when working along the jaw line, where my whiskers seem quite stubborn.Yet to try a Feather Pro out in this Razor , will see the current blade out first.

Juniper Shave

Today I was in the mood for having a juniper shave, I mean juniper fragrance. That's why I opted for Mastro Livi razor and shave brush having juniper wood scales and handle. I absolutely love the smell of juniper wood, very Mediterranean and aromatic, it has a strong yet lovely fragrance, something you can usually smell when you walk in Mediterreanean woods. The razor is an incredible masterpiece made by Mastro Livi, with its artisan carbon damascus steel made of 100 layers and with a sort of "wood" pattern, it is incredibly beautiful. Not to mention the fact Mastro Livi ground the blade to a full extra hollow, this razor sings like an Italian "tenore". The shave brush, with its double band wild silver badger loft, mounted to perfection my homemade shaving soap and making a super rich and smooth lather. The finishing touch has been provided by Brut Classic, an aftershave reminding me of the times when I was a kid and was using this fragrance in order to "smell like a man".

  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil

  • Bowl: Chinese Bowl

  • Razor: Mastro Livi "100 Layers" Carbon Damascus, 13/16 Extra Full Hollow, Square Point, Juniper Wood Scales

  • After Shave: Brut Classic

Neillite Four Hundred, my first outing. If I had stopped with the beard I'd say an unqualified success, smooth and efficient, almost exclusively settling on the aggressive side of the razor. I couldn't get it to perform similarly on my head shave, stubborn stubble kept thumbing its nose at the Neillite and the stubble won. Plus my biggest weeper since my first dance with Tom's killer Bunny. I'm tempted to say it's not you it's me because it did so well on the beard, maybe it's angle or pressure, or an obscure Bakelite incantation. Another try called for.
