SOTD: Saturday 13th January - Friday 19th January 2018.

Date: 18 January 2018

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Maseto 2 Band Finest Badger Beehive 30/55mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mitchell's Wool Fat 10x
Razor:- GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade:- GEM Personna SS PTFE Coated #10 (the end of the finish line into the blade bank)
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic
Fragrance:- Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme

Today is my last shave with the Bullet Tip looking forward to used the Clog-Pruf, as for the GEM blade the tenth shave wasn't too bad not as smooth and still get a great shave. So the maximum shaves per blade with the Bullet Tip will be set to #8 is when I replace the blade no more. The Maseto 30mm Beehive handle feels very comfortable in my hand when I face lather with the FAT!!, I'm thinking about getting another 30mm Beehive in Ivory colour.... well see.

Greetings,

Maiden shave of the wickham 1912~ irish fern sample, the verdict ?..Another wonderful performing soap like the classic 24, it provided a superb lather for the shave ,with a wonderful post shave feeling, and lovely fragrance throughout the shave.

A very efficient 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report, yet again. The muhle R41/ladas blade was another wonderfully paired duo.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of geoffrey beene ~ grey flannel a/s, followed by a few liberal squirts to the pulse points, of the matching edt...Superb stuff.:)

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine.;)

Be careful when venturing outside today, ladies & gentlemen.

Greetings All,

Thursday shave

One day growth and warm shave

Preparation – Showered then face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood Shaving Cream
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4P)
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (4th)
Brush: RazoRock 400 (face lather)

Post Shave: Hot then cold water rinse, Alum Nivea 2 Phase followed by Michael Kors.

Perma-Sharp Super Test
Day 4

Again, have I been duped by my 4th day selection of shaving cream. The TOBS was as slick as ever and I believe hid a few flaws with the blade. However, I still have a few weepers, and my skin was not feeling the best. Throughout this test I have been forced to use Alum and at no stage did I get a burn-less rub. I think this might be due to the Perma-Sharp Super blade being slightly sharper than the others I have tried.

So, in conclusion:

1. Shark SS
2. Gillette Nacet
3. Astra SP
4. Perma-Sharp Super

The reasons I put this in fourth place was due to it being slightly more uncomfortable I believe due it being sharper than the other blades. Also, the blade seemed to deteriorate after a couple of shaves leaving the blade a little more unpredictable.

New blade will start on Monday. I have several new blades to try, but if anyone wants me to try a particular blade, please let me know.

Cheers,

Brian

Razor: Colonial Razors SS General
Blade: Schick Proline (2)
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Julie
Soap & Splash: Jeeves of Hudson Street Abyss
Beautiful scent accord from this soap. While reading the scent description, I almost stopped at rose...I just don't like it in my soaps. However, it was described as a darker rose but not dominating so I picked it up hoping that the description rang true. When I pop the top, I get a light, chocolatey rose with a beautiful, earthy (but not too earthy) undertone; it is most assuredly a cologne type scent that is extremely pleasing. Performance with Jeeves' soaps...forget about it, superb and the splash has staying power along with a very nice menthol hit to sooth that scraped skin.
