Greetings,

Up with the larks again, due to another early start for me...

A wonderful 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

The parker 24C/ Shark ss paired together wonderfully, the balanced weight of the 24C glides through my stubble effortlessly, superb the egyptian made shark ss is a really suited blade for most my parker razors, in future sotd's i'll pair up a Asco SS stainless with it to see what the performance will be like.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Brut ~ Oceans a/s lotion.

My face is feeling smooth refreshed, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Cella and boar indeed, @Digimonkey. I also had forgotten how good this stuff is. A lovely post-shave feel too.

I confess at getting a tad worried about recent developments in Sapone land: the demise of Vitos Red: no more tallow in Haslinger, and so on. I hope there isn't too much more fannying around. Don't get me wrong, I do like and respect many non-tallow soaps; but I wouldn't like our choices to be increasingly limited.

Oh yeah, the shave. Tremendous. ‘nuff said. I smell good too :D

Brush: Frank Shaving 20mm Best Badger
Soap: Gilchrist & Soames hand soap in a Meißner Tremonia jar
Razor: Vigshaving combination head (open comb side) on RazoRock bamboo SS handle
Blade: Feather (2)

You know sometimes you have what seems like a good idea, and then when you enact it you can't for the life of you think why you felt that way?

Since I was getting occasional irritation with the Meißner soap, I decided to remove the puck and place some soap from a hotel stay which I had successfully used for face lathering. Cue one exceedingly wet and weak lather. Still, it was up to the job - I was happy with my result, although there was one tiny weeper at the base of my neck. I'm not sure I can apportion blame to any particular part of my kit.

I know the handle is blameless, though. It always looks like it should be slipping out from between my fingers every other moment, but it is in fact very secure and ergonomic.

Happy shaving.

Razor: Rockwell 6C
Blade: Gillette White Platinum
Brush: Stirling Synthetic 24mm
Soap: Oleo Soapworks Irving Park
Post: Fine Accoutrements American Blend & Oleo Soapworks Irving Park Balm

A perfect shave. I love the YSL Rive Gauche scent and this has plenty of it. I had doubts towards duck fat, thinking it was just a hype but damn this soap is top notch in both slickness and protection.

A lovely shave this morning. I really enjoy using the No.10 cream the performance and post shave is very good and the PSB is just not needed but I really like the scent.
Not the most sophisticated nor the most complex scent but I enjoy the understatement.
No high five, or man hug from this one, just a plain old handshake and a quiet hello.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Greetings

Prep: Shower
Razor: Henckels Rapide
Blade: Henckles Rapide
Brush: APShave Co. SynBad
Soap: Arko Stick Grated
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDP: Penhaligon's Empressa

Another Penhaligon's tester, whilst this fragrance is absolutely lovely I feel it is way too feminine for me and I say that as a man who owns very many so called 'female' perfumes. To my nose it shouts sophisticated middle aged or mature woman, it is not girly pink sweet. Whilst I believe that you shouldn't in general categorize fragrances by gender or age there are some that are so extremely weighted one way or the other it is impossible not to do so and this, to my nose, is one of them.

I would humbly suggest that if you have a wife/girlfriend/partner in the above category this would make a super and relatively safe blind buy fragrance gift.

Regards
Dick.
