Shaving recipe for today.


Prep: Hot shower:/ L'OREAL~ Carbon Shower Total Action.

Pre:

Cold wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Omega S10065.

Face Lather.

Cream : Ingram Menthol.

Blade: Ladas Super Stainless. (3)

Razor: Weishi 9306-I

Cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Alcolado glacial mentholated Splash.


Aloe Vera Gel.


Lattafa ~ khalis Oudi EPD.

It's been a while since i last had a 'Full On' menthol themed shave.The ingram menthol cream i haven't used for a while and forgot how little is required to produce a good amount of protective slick lather,with a good punch of menthol within it.

I've mentioned in my previous shaves this year i intend to use shaving items in my den that i haven't really gave much attention to in the past due to me reaching for my trusty favourites, the weishi razor is just one item i've been adding more regularly to my shave set ups.

A wonderful silky smooth 3 pass + pick ups comfortable shave with no errors to report.

The Alcolado glacial mentholated Splash is a wonderful face freezer, not exactly ideal for the winter months, but i use what i've got, and what i like, besides, i like to experiment with my humble shave set ups,which the vast majority are very in-expensive, but give me comfortable enjoyable shaving results.

The stars of the shave was the Weishi 9306-I / Ladas SS duo, a superb match.

Finishing the shave off with a few generous squirts of Lattafa ~ khalis Oudi EPD to the pulse points,which i forgot to add to the photo.

My face is feeling smooth,very cool and smelling devine.;)

I thought I'd give the Merkur 39c a go to day with a Feather blade.

Never tride this and honestly I don't know why I didn't do it earlier.

Like a hot knife through butter!!

Leaving me with a very enjoyable and smooth three pass shave.

With yet again enough soap left to shave a harem...


Ready for a cappuccino with ....

Aha - a case of mistaken identity. See below the photograph which fooled me. Another English comedian - Mancunian Karl Pilkington, famed for his work with Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant on An 'Idiot Abroad', 'The Moaning of Life', and 'Sick of It', as well as countless radio shows on XFM and many podcasts. Ricky and Steve often refer to his appearance as resembling a shaved chimp with a head like a f*cking orange.
Apologies if I offended any Mancunians, although I suspect most would know Karl's work well. Manchester is a city close to my heart, and is the birthplace of my Father.

I've previously only had Stella Alpina from this lot so should be fun to try out the new (to me) scents... Went for Opuntia today, they have really sorted out the consistency problems that plagued these products 12-24 months ago... These are more like splashes than the thick, sticky balms they used to be. The scent on Opuntia is supposed to be Aventus-ish, which it is... Kind of. It smells very chemical and synthetic and reminds me of fabric conditioner! When you buy Aventus clone perfume oils they come in two grades, regular and superior (the latter being over double the price) and unfortunately Opuntia smells just like the cheaper oil and therefore pretty much identical to Fine Platinum which I also found to be of inferior quality. That's just my opinion on it, shame as the face feel on this product is very good. On the plus side if you do happen to enjoy the scent it seems to be quite persistent, more like Cologne strength than aftershave!
