Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Body Shop Maca Root face wash and Proraso White
Razor: Schick Type B2
Blade: Schick China (#1)
Brush: Maseto 24mm finest extra density
Soap: Kent
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Bulldog Balm

First shave with my newly acquired Schick Type B2. I was a bit disappointed when it arrived to find the internal spring was broken, however much googling and forum searching it turns out that loading modern blades is just as well done direct by hand. The razor only needed a good scrub with a toothbrush and dish washing liquid. It has a few "teeth" marks where I suspect someone used pliers or grips to get it open, which is possibly when the spring broke.

It shaves superbly, it feels different to any other razor I have tried, it is very smooth and feels like there is no blade. The angle took a few strokes to get but after that it was wonderful, the angle is odd almost 90 degrees to the face.

Monday's shave of the day :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, followed by Wright's Cold Tar Soap.
Soap - Cella.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 - Synthetic.
Razor - Colonial; The General Black.
Blade - Kai Captain (Pink) mild (day 3).
Post - Cold water splash, followed by Floid Vigoroso Aftershave.

A lovely 2 pass shave: WTG and ATG - a DFS fuss free finish.

Was in a hurry this morning - decided to go for a face lather with the Cella - wow!

A fabulous lather, protectiveness, slickness, glide - an explosion of soapiness in a matter of seconds.

The General Black with the Kai Captain did its work, effortlessly - it just felt a great shave, a light razor weight wise, but a heavy hitter in terms of performance; shaving the lather - great audible feedback.

A great start to the day - skin feels great, some 12 1/2 hours later.

All the best,

Chris

Boots Bay Rum Aftershave

A comfortable two pass shave after my post work hot bath.
I really like the Bay Rum soap scent. It's fast becoming my favourite.
I tried the Boots Bay Rum Aftershave for the first time today. The scent is pretty close to that of the soap, as mentioned by @Benz3ne. It doesn't seem to be very hydrating like Proraso and some others but it smells good.

Sorry Paul, it was me who recommended the hair tonic but failed to say I normally use a few drops of vitamin E oil before hand as I do with Old Spice and some other splashes.

Evening shave.

BBA Face Wash
Barrister's Reserve Cool
Thäter 4125/2
Gillette Super Adjustable Black Beauty P3
Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (2)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
RazoRock XXX Aftershave

I craved a little citrus in my shave this evening. Hence the choice of software. It's been a few months since I have used this soap and it took me a while to dial it in. But once I had, by basically adding lots of water, it was superb. Very slick. I have noticed that since switching to predominantly face lathering, my skin has never felt better. Must be the gentle exfoliating process. A lovely, restorative shave.

Tuesday 13th February

RSC Facial Scrub
Vitos Pre shave cream
Supermax Classic Shaving Cream
Yaqi Sagrada Familia Synthetic Brush
Schick Grip with a Personna Blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Arko Classic Cream
Old Spice Noir AS

I am always on the lookout for reasonably neutral smelling creams to experiment with additional EOs. The Supermax Classic could be useful. Initial impressions were favourable. This Bulgarian Cream is similar (in my opinion) to the Polish Wars Classic and does not have the strong scent of Palmolive which I usually use for mixing.
3 passes and a little buffing for a lovely smooth shave:)

Hi @Norfolkdick , I can highly recommend a Feather blade in this razor. If you have not yet tried one & it hasn't been included in your 'mixed selection', PM me & I'll send one over to you.
Cheers
Greetings

I have not used a feather blade for at least five years I found them just too sharp for me and they left my face feeling at best a bit tender and at worst sore. Having said that I still have one packet and I do intend to try them again, five years is a very long time and perhaps my views have changed. What makes me unsure was that three years ago I borrowed a Cobra Classic and shaved with it for a week, the razor was very good indeed but I found the artist club blades just too sharp for me, I was given three different types to try but they were all IMHO 'silly sharp'.

Many thanks anyway for your very kind offer.

Regards
Dick.

Greetings All,

Tuesday shave

One day's growth and warm shave

Preparation – Showered then face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)
Soap: OSP Fougere Shaving Soap
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4P)
Blade: Lord Super Chrome (2nd)
Brush: RazoRock 400 (face lather)

Post Shave: Hot then cold water rinse, Alum, Nivea Sensitive Cooling Balm followed by Michael Kors EDT.

Lord Super Chrome Test
Day 2

Darn, (that's) the polite sound of disappointment. Not sure if it was the lather, it seemed a little thick this morning, or whether it was the blade, either way ended up with several weepers and a nicked lip (I know devastation). Not the end of the world, but with the Alum burn, it was not overall the best day 2 shave.

Will this blade bounce back?

Cheers,

Brian
