Snuff

been using thors hammer for a few days now, and im yearning for viking dark again. i prefer the in your face hit of the dark, and the tobacco taste of it too. the sour apple taste of thors hammer isnt hitting the spot for me as much as the pure tobacco of viking dark, still a good snuff though.

I'll agree that, Chris - but I'm taking a shaving notion to my snuff taking! I'm rotating, not in any strict order, Dark, Thor's Hammer, Spear and Spear with a hint of Menthol - all Viking. Whatever takes my fancy - and it's keeping me well snuffed up! Problem is, of course - four tins to carry around! But they're worth it!

It occurs to me that if I advertise the fact, I may be able to make it not only more real but actually - real!

Today is giving up snuff day! Hurray! No more runny noses - well, apart from colds and flu de dah and no more blowing brown shite from my nose. It kinda follows, if you don't put brown shite up your nose you won't get brown shite out of your nose.

I'm already several hours into it and don't seem to be suffering any withdrawal symptoms so maybe snuff differs from smoking in this way also - I'm hoping so!! I found that every time I saw a tin I would reach for it - so I've put all my snuff out of sight, don't get visual reminders and it's going well so far.

Please wish me luck and power to my elbow! I'm kinda glad I tried snuff and kinda wish I hadn't bothered. I shall be very glad when I'm free of it!

There - done! Said it.

You'll be alright, Carl.

As I said, it's not at all addictive (for me, anyway).

Well it's evening now and I'm still firmly on track. A few heavier cravings succumbed to easy methods for defeating addiction.

I hope you are right, Vinny - as you usually are, of course!

What you speak? I haven't smoked for close to - well, between twenty and twenty-five years and I noticed huge changes.

So no kidding!!! Goin Cold Turkey so soon eh? The heck brought that about?

You must have had some kinda epiphany that I missed seeing typed about. Did you consider the cats and their needs? They will miss your huffing droppings.

Well Carl my friend, you jumped into this snuff thing with both feet running in high gear from the get go. You went in eyes open to what might happen and now it sure sounds like you had enough. Many of your more 'enthusiastic' posts made for some good reading.....thank you.

Hell, if you can quit cigarettes then snuff should be a snap. I will send the occasional positive waves in your direction.

Stay motivated buddy, that's the key,

Martin

Thank you for your support, dear friends! Here we are just getting into Day Three and once again, the morning is no problem - they used to be when I was quitting cigs, needed to get the nicotine levels on the rise again. Yesterday, once again, a few heavy cravings succumbed to standard quitting techniques and the lighter ones I could pretty much ignore. This seems to be working out as Vinny suggested it would - thank goodness. I had been expecting a tussle.

She cat won't miss me huffing but he does! Just plain not as friendly, excepting meal times, of course. I swear he was getting addicted - strange slanty eyed look would come upon him together with a hunting fixed stare, head stretched forward.

Epiphany - you are right!. Couldn't get my breath one night, at bed-time, so I unearthed my sinus washing pump - an electric neti pot - and washed out all sorts of snuff and then one almighty great congealed lump of it. And lo! when I had finished blowing my nose dry, I could breath easily again. Now I have a 'thing' about being able to breath easily - well I suppose the 'thing' is the exact opposite. It's probably nothing more than the standard human response to restricted breathing but I can't help thinking I had a bad scare as a kid sometime. Anyway, no need for psychology -snuff was a goner right there and then.

I am so enjoying the lack of mess, dust and bins full of brown tissues.

And since when has not doing something stopped me having an opinion about it?

I wanna eat something savoury - no, sweet - no, savoury - sweet - ad infinitum. well, till I go do the washing-up and occupy my mind a little. snuff snuff snuff snuff snuff bollix!
