Show us your boars!

If you barely dip the very tip of the brush in water (once or twice) so you hardly see a ripple , then face lather, the lather will miraculously reappear :)

I actually tried that this morning but it didn't work for me, had to go back to the puck. I've Googled the issue and its fairly common, I've seen it recommended not to soak the brush for longer than 1-2 minutes before the shave... Supposedly too long soaking = lather eater.

We'll see :)

Ah well, it works for me, isn't the world of wet shaving wonderfully mystifying at times? :)

...well the Zenith A26 eventually landed from TVB. The brush arrived with a small dent in the aluminium handle, I suspect due to inadequate packaging by TVB; I decided to keep the brush. First impressions are this is a beautifully made brush. Over 100 years of brush making heritage shines through. The bristles are indeed much finer than any of my Omegas or Smogs and it definately has the softest face feel of any of my boars and indeed many of my badgers. Whilst the backbone is ok it is a very different brush from my Proraso giving more splay during use. It picks up soap from tripple milled pucks quicker than even the Pro49, and I do not bloom. Feels good in the hand also, but not quite the superb ergonomics of the Omega Pro plastic handles although the aluminium does add a greater perception of quality and certanly weight. I did get the dissapearing lather effect after the second pass but I am assuming this will right itself after the brush is fully broken-in. I prefer the backbone and scrub of the Proraso but this is still an excellent brush especially if you hanker after a soft, massaging brush. I am suprised it is not more popular.

Well I've been hammering the 820 as I said I would... Two 5 minute palm lathers a day (one morning, one evening.)

Its lather making ability seems to increase with every use and the last two lathers it doesn't seem to have "eaten" any... Good piggy :)

View attachment 26811 View attachment 26810 I thought some of us would find it intresting to check out each others boar brushes, so here is my currant line up starting with my re handled Omega 48, Omega 21762 Italian flag , Omega pro 49, Zenith B03 A26, Semouge Owners club ash handle, Semouge 2000, Proraso/ Omega re handled in ceramic, and last but not least my Semouge 1305.
Let's see yours! :)
In your honest opinion bm what would you say was the main differences between the semogue 2000 and the semogue oc?

Heres a question for the brotherhood of the boar... How do you rate the SOC brushes for face lathering? I'm close to pulling the trigger but am worried it will be too floppy.
I don't face lather but I'm sure there is enough backbone for it. Hopefully someone who does will pop in an let you know for sure. :)
