Shave of the day Saturday 15th-Friday 21st july 2017

Pre-work;

I loaded up the Thomas Clipper with a fresh Gillette Super Blue Silver (Chinese) blade as my last outing with one felt tuggy for the first pass, which is apparently not how it should go at all! This one...well, felt identical. It tugged and pinged my hairs which wasn't at all comfortable so I binned it and chucked in a Gillette Nacet on its first outing. Now, this is my first use of a Nacet blade and by jove they're cracking! They're mellow from the outset but make short work of hair. I can only assume the Gillette Super Blue Silver is a dud packet (@Bogeyman), but there we go! Life goes on and I don't feel hard done by, as it was @Blademonkey's generosity which allowed me to try them. I'll open the other packet he gifted me soon to see whether they're of the same ilk!

My first proper outing with OSP, another generosity gifted by @David68 (he won't accept any reciprocation, the bugger! :D ) and it loaded so beautifully, became so shiny/sheeny during my face lather and gave me ample slickness. Lovely soft, powdery scent which is dulled slightly by the soapy smell coming through. I feel like I need more @OSP in my life but would definitely tend towards a more powerful scent - I'm still very much tempted by a full tub James' Bay Rum offering...

Extro Bay Rum did the job we know it can - lovely post-shave feel and minimal sting which is a further testament to this blade/razor pairing!

The razor made little work of stubble, the brush made little work of the soap. All-in-all, job is a good'un! Very comfortable two-pass tidy-up (WTG/XTG). I am 100% smooth in the directions I shaved, not too far off that in the directions I didn't. I'm comfortable, irritation free and ready to go!

Onto the next one, chaps!

I do indeed! I take the photos usually with an iPhone 7 then I'll use Snapseed for basic tuning/editing, Prisma for some filters at times and Over to add text, usually. That being said, you can add filters and text with Snapseed but I'm pretty particular and have found these three to work well for me! Credit to @flashashton27 for the heads-up regarding Prisma and Over.

Brilliant cheers for that I'll give them a whirl

Very Van Gogh! :D

How is the soap and could you link plz.
A quick insight into the Chinese cologne soap..it's a wonderful performer, excellent post shave feeling ,a nice light cologne fragrance, no risk of you "glowing in the Dark" or any "abnormal growths starting to appear after shaving with it.".for what it costs it's superb, i grated mine and moulded it into a plastic tub..which is ideal for face or bowl lathering.

It does however take a while to arrive, but it's well worth the wait.Enjoy.;)

Thursday..

Pre-shave - Proraso Green
Soap - OSP Neroli
Brush - Semogue 2000
Face lather
Razor - Feather Artist Club SS
Blade - Feather Pro Guard #4
Post - Alum & Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Smell - Alt-Innsbruck EdC

Still practicing and enjoying the AC. For me, it performs best when dealing with a good two days growth. I found a bit razor burn if using it more frequently and, it must be said, too much buffing.

No such problems today, though. 2 passes would have done, but 3 were superb. I omitted the 3rd pass ATG at the chin until my skill levels are up. But no burn and, for the first time, no nicks or weepers. No sting from the alum either; so hopefully I'm in the right direction.

The OSP, needless to say, provides perfect cushioning and glide for the razor. Lovely finish with the cool menthol of the Alt-Innsbruck.

Pre - RSC Facial Scrub
Soap - Cyril Salter Tallow
Brush - Omega 82065
Razor - DE89
Blade - Perma Sharp SS (7)
Post Shave - Witch Hazel
After Shave - Superdrug Sierra Breeze

First time using a tallow based puck of Cyril Salter. I couldn't find any suitable containers for the puck so I wetted my face and rubbed the puck on my face then lathered with the brush. The lather was easy to build, had good cushion, reasonable slickness and post shave feel.

Another day, another BBS irritation free shave. I do like how I can get BBs on my neck with this razor without irritation but I don't like BBS on my neck, sounds odd but the shave feels too close to me. I wouldn't fancy chasing it every day, I think DFS territory is good enough for the neck. Less margin for error. Cella was fantastic, one of those wet shaving staples. Fantastic tallow based soap. I quite fancy giving Vitos Red another run out, perhaps tomorrow I will.
