Many thanks to @Paul L for the wonderful Spitfire and the equally wonderful Wilkie blade.
I spent quite a bit of the wtg xtg two pass shave, wondering what the scent of this slick soap reminded me of. Meanwhile the razor and blade combo dealt effortlessly with +one days growth.
Conclusion, I think it's Dentyne chewing gum.

You are most welcome Kevin.

I'm pleased you are happy with the soap and the old Wilkinson blades.

I think you're very close with the chewing gum smell !

I love the smell of warm pumpkin pie in the morning

Last night's shave...
20170812_155701-jpg.16253

Prep: Hot shower and Loreal Charcoal face wash
Pre: Bloom water
Razor: ATT S2
Razor blade: Gillette Platinum
Brush: Maseto 24mm Silvertip
Soap: Fine Italian Citrus
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Myrsol Emulsion
Fragrance: Mancera Cedrat Boise

'Out-out' last night so needed a fuss free shave and the ATT S2 delivered.
Second use of the Maseto 24mm Silvertip, this time with a soap, which it took in it's stride. Love this brush.

Have a good Sunday.
Cheers
Rob

FullSizeRender-3.jpg BBS prep....
Final shave with the Scheermonnik, got it sussed at last.
Great shave, absolutely BBS, no dramas, a splash of Thayer's was all that was required,....The Schick really shows those £100+ Johnny-Come-Lately's who the daddy really is.
Vintage Old Spice to set me up for the day.
Ain't it great to be alive.....

Good afternoon gentlemen,
Firstly apologies for being so lax in the sotd department since my return from the states.
Life just seems to have gotten in the way.
Anyway, decided to go for a perfect Sunday morning, late breakfast of boiled eggs and soldiers, washed down with really strong sweet fresh ground coffee .
Second use of the futur clone and nacett blade, set on 2.5 this time after being terribly bitten on the first use set on 3.
As always Taylor's cream was a doddle to lather, and smelt gorgeous.
Very good three pass on three days growth, smooth with only a tinge of irritation, subdued by the great Superdrug as balm.
Now off out to try and find a pub inland avoiding the hoards of holiday makers down here, Sunday lunch, couple of pints of proper cider or beer and home to watch a game of thrones. If this all goes to plan it will make a perfect Sunday.
Have a good one gents.
Futur clone #2.5
Nacett blade #2 last
Omega boar brush
Taylor's Eton college cream
Superdrug as balm
Dolce&Gabbana underarm
Atkinson Oud save the king eau de parfume.

Sunday 13th August
Virginia Sheng Purtec
OSP Sicilian Lemon Grove Cream
The General
Feather Pro #2
Alum wash
Selin Lemon Cologne
Gillette Pro 3in1 Balm

Transferred some Selin lemon cologne to my newly acquired cologne bottle. Much more aesthetic than the large plastic bottle.
The Feather has smoothed out somewhat, but I still managed to nick a spot on my cheek. Anyway another fine, smooth shave from a great General.

Happy shaves!!!

Sunday...

Soap - SMN Crema da Barba
Brush - Semogue 1470
Face lather
Razor - Fa Tip Piccolo
Razor - Astra SP
Post - Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Smell - Alt-Innsbruck EdC

Lovely smooth finish today. The Piccolo really is a great little razor; certainly the favourite currently produced DE in my collection and it paired beautifully with the Astra SP.

The SMV soap is also fast becoming a favourite in terms of performance, glide and protection, to say nothing of that lovely scent. The scent of the Alt-Innsbruck seems to harmonise with that of the soap; especially the tobacco flower notes.

Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus

Soap: Squadron Soaps Spitfire
Razor: ATT Kronos R2
Blade: Vintage Gillette Sword Super Silver (2)
Post: Argo Neo Gold

After the surgical exfoliation of my facial epidermis courtesy of the H2 plate, I eased back to the R2 plate. Still a lot of blade feel, but much more comfortable and limited irritation. Another very close shave.
The Squadron Spitfire soap was a pleasure to use, as was the excellent and very affordable Bulgarian balm Argo Neo Gold.

It has never occurred to me to tell people about my shave before but today it lifted my spirits, made me feel one with myself and has generally improved my outlook since. Surely this is as good as it gets? Maybe not, it was still one of the best shaves I've ever had, if not technically then spiritually.

Lots of hot water to start and a good soak while I got my Westholme strop hooked up and selected the Solingen G. Felix 5/8" that Billy kindly produced recently. The zen headspace I have found when stropping a razor is a new and welcome part of my shave.

Recently acquired Duke 3 with best badger from a kind member of this forum and the third visit to my recently discovered Wickham's 1912 Citrus Musk made for a superb wake-up once the stropping was done.
That brush is lovely. It took me a while to learn it after my much less dense Vulfix but it has a superb feel, both in the hand and on the face as I lather. It makes me happy.

I'm still learning the art but today the shave was smoooooth, felt intuitive and was a pleasure throughout.
Two passes and a touch-up was grand. In the recent past I might have taken the 38c or another DE for the third pass but it just wasn't necessary today. I might have got a bit closer in a few places but not by much.

Alum and cold water confirmed it, that was a good one. :)
With the delicate citrus notes still there I stropped again and realised I still have only one post shave balm. Trumper's sandalwood skin food it was. MWF has spoilt me in that respect...
I would like a balm that complements the Wickham soap better. It hasn't spoilt my day though.

Peace.

Omega 10015
ATT Calypso M1
Bic (1)
Barrister & Mann Lavanille (sample)
Boots Tea Tree WH & Crabtree and Evelyn Black Absinthe

A soap I have been curious about for a long time, looks are very deceiving as it doesn't look the most appealing soap. I'm not sure on the scent profile off to the top of my head but it smells very rich and certainly a scent I enjoyed. The lather was vvery nice and for a change I used a scuttle. I used a dispensable brush because I read that the soap stains some brushes so rather than stain a favourite I used an inexpensive Omega. The shave was nice, though I don't think the blade suits the razor 100%. I do think the Black Absinthe is a good match for the Lavanille, at least in my opinion. Look forward to Seville tomorrow.
