Shark

I got my Sharks from the same seller. Delivered very quickly. They're sharp blades, but maybe not as smooth as something like a Gillette Super Thin.

I rate Shark SS slightly behind Feather and Kai in 'sharpness' . They appear to be less aggressive in my Futur razor than the latter two.
I bought mine from Store 34 on E-Bay. Good supplier.

Its blades like this that have stopped me worrying about other blades going out of production or quality issues with regards to changing product location.

A very smooth blade, that whilst not as sharp as the usual suspects, offers none the less a very comfortable shave at a very good cost point.

Anyone that is thinking about stocking up on Red IP’s or Astra’s should give these a try beforehand.

Store 34 (Bestshave) is good to deal with,in my experience.

I've bought some from here and I rate them. They're cheap, sharp, smooth and have cool packaging (if that matters to you).
I find they don't last long but would definitely buy again.

Tried a Shark Super Stainless tonight courtesy of FrenchBlade.

Found that the shave it gave was similar in closeness to a Derby but in use was smoother, especially on the neck where I sometimes get tugging issues.

They are sharp as, despite balm, I felt I had shaved afterwards - whereas I don't with a Derby.

Used in an alu Tech using Palmolive soap stick.

On my third Shark Super Chrome blade and I'm really quite impressed. So impressed, that after 3 shaves with the first one I ordered 100 of them.

Sharp and smooth. Not tried the Super Stainless, though.

I've used both the Sharks, and they are solid performers, though not quite in my faves group. They are very sharp and somewhat smooth for me. I wouldn't hesitate to shave with one.
    • ... pending quality of the individual blade that is.[/list:u][/list:u]

... I mean I'd really hesitate to use one that's all pitted, rusty, and caked with soap-scum, but hey! that goes for all blade makes/models/manufacturers.
      • ... it also goes for most metal-ware, baking tins, cutlery, etc.

          • ... same goes for women too.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Fancy swapping a pack or two, Ian? I've got a stash of the Super Stainless and I'm impressed with them, but wouldn't mind trying the chrome ones as well.

+1 ... And still remain terrific value and readilly available in the UK...

...whilst many of the blades out of Gillette's St.Petersburg plant are terrific it is reassuring to know that other terrific blades are also available from other manufacturuers. Lord's Shark SS blades from their Alexandria plant are, for me, sharp, smooth and good value for money. I also find Rapira Super Stainless and Rapira Swedish Supersteel from Mostoglamesh's Moscow plant equally sharp and smooth. Lord and Mostoglamesh are hitting a sweet spot for a medium sharp, daily blade for very little money. Treet's Dura Sharp also finds much love although they do not quite hit the sweet spot for me.

I've got some Shark Chromes on the BST. They are great blades but I have too many in my arsenal and need to clear some room. Outside of Petersburg there are very few good DE blade makers. Israeli made Personnas are good and Lord, who make the Sharks are good. Gillette used to make DE blades all over the place but seem to be consolidating to Petersburg.

...Gillette used to make DE blades all over the place but seem to be consolidating to Petersburg.

They also make blades in China, India and have just recently opened their largest plant ever in Vietnam in Ben Cat, Binh Duong province. With all the political hubbub going on recently I would imagine they are rethinking the Russian arrangement (if smart). As much as I love their blades, I am not a fan of their exportation of jobs.
