Tuesday evening...

Soap - The Fat
Brush - Semogue 1470
Face lather
Razor - Schick E3
Blade - Proline B
Post - BBA balm
Smell - Penhaligon's Endymion EDC

Ah...gotta love those vintage Schicks. I think the Proline blades are even better than the somewhat scarcer Chinese Schick blades.

And I smell pretty good too...:)

Easily one of my top 5 Penhaligon's fragrances @Scotshave. Just wished it lasted a bit longer on my skin. Great choice.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Fatip Grande
Blade: Astor (#1) Unknown vintage
Brush: Vulfix 404
Cream: Real Shaving Co.
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea 2 phase.

Why have one Fatip OC when you can have two! I really like my Fatip Piccolo and spotted this Grande for a good price and decided why not. First shave and apart from the odd (rough?) feel of the end of the handle it did not disappoint. The Astor blade was excellent, very sharp but very smooth, 3 passes were almost too much today, by that I mean I was in danger of getting some irritation as I could feel how close the last pass was, but all was good post shave. The Astor blades are of unknown vintage, they have a barcode on the back and it says made in E.U. if these were made in Greece, which I am sure they were then it has to be post 1981. The interesting bit is the outer carton says "Specially Exported to Syria". I have tried the currently available Astor blades before which were excellent and these seem to be excellent too, and even better I have another 99 of them.

Thayers Rose, Myrsol Emulsion & 4711 aftershave and cologne

A bit of a change to the norm today, shaved before my shower so only a wash of my face with Creightons charcoal face wash as a prep. I was expecting a not too good shave due to the lack of prep and the blade being on its fifth use is uncharted territory for me. A lovely smooth shave was had however and I will continue to push this blade with this razor to see how many I get from it. Almost BBS all over save for under my chin which is a trouble spot for me so I don't push it too much there.

Just curious, what is the 4711 like. Just today, I was looking at the aftershave and splash cologne and deciding whether to buy.

Hi!

Forgot to post last weekend shaves, with a new Zenith horse prototype I'm testing:

As the last two ones that I tested (currently on PIF), is a wonderful brush, much better than any Vielong horse I have ever owned: no entangling issues, reasonable soft tips with a bit of scritch, really pleasant for facelathering. Although is on the big side (27 mm. knot) it doesn't feel too large in face.

I took advantage also to exchange handles between my Rockwell and Timeless razors, with interesting results: less agressiveness in the Timeless scalloped, a bit of more in the Rockwell one but not too much!

La Toja sensitive cream
Yaqi 24mm Tuxedo
Rockwell 6C plate 3
Shark (1)
Proraso Green ASL
Vanilla Sublime Mr Perfume

A good performing cream, even if it doesn't smell as nice as some others.
It's been a few months since I used a Shark blade. I forgot how sharp they are. Tamed by the 3 plate it was efficient and smooth.
Three passes and a very smooth finish

It's a very nice citrus aftershave and cologne. If I had to use it daily I would be very happy to do so. The only sticking point is the longevity is not too good, it disappears fairly quickly. That said it has been around for a long time so can't be too bad, for me a classic cologne and aftershave.

Thanks for the reply, and the link. Now to decide whether I need the 100, 200 or 300ml bottle :p
