ER 1912 Rediscovered.
Since taking up SE shaving I have neglected the ER 1912 in favour of the 1914,1924 and my favourite the Streamline. Though I have used a Gem Jnr 1912,I have not used an ER 1912 for about 18 months.

As many have been been lauding it's merits, I thought I should give one a run out. I chose the ER 1912 Bathroom set with the smart Alu. Handle. I decided to Shave initially with a Shim,as previously had found the British ER 1912 rather harsh.

I started off on the RH side with a Shim, and the Shave was ultra smooth yet efficient. After removal of the Shim I completed the Shave on the LH side, chin and upper lip. Though the Razor was more aggressive it was not unpleasant, and I ended up with a first class close all round finish.

I must make more effort to include the ER 1912 in my rotation. Though I intend to thin out my 1922 herd, I will keep a selection of those with the Handle variations. Today's Shave was really enjoyable and has revived my liking for this Iconic Vintage SE Razor.

Well said, Mike. The Bathroom Set is, indeed, a smashing razor.

I think my small DE herd needs pruning; as SE shaving is now my main MO (notable exceptions being the Piccolo and Gillette Red Tip).

Pre: Hot Shower
Soap: Taconic Shave Bay Rum Shave Stick
Razor: Parker Variant (3/3/2)
Blade: Timor (1)
Brush: Parker Marble Ivory Synthetic
A/S: Taconic Shave Bay Rum
Balm: Taconic Shave Unscented

Really enjoyed this shave. Great products from Taconic Shave. The Bay rum shave stick has a nice sweet bay rum scent. Perfect for the weather, now it's getting a little cooler. The Parker Variant was excellent as usual paired with the Timor blade. A new blade for me, very sharp and smooth. Good post shave feel from the bay rum splash and a nice light bay rum scent (that's) not too clovey.

Prep: Hot Shower & Bloom Water
Blade: Astra SP #1
Razor: Gillette Slim L3 Birth Year
Soap: Antica Barberia Mondial
Brush: Omega 30mm Synth Barber Handle
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel Lavender
EDT: Joop

Well this is the first time for me with the Gillette Slim and the Antica Barberia soap.
My recently acquired beloved Gillette is in need of some TLC but she works. I intend to have her re-plated in the not too distant future.
The razor performed superbly set at #7. Its nicely weighted and balanced and extremely smooth. A 3 pass irritation free shave with a few touch ups left me BBS.
I liked how the soap performed. Its thirsty and has a med/strong scent. Cushion is great, slickness maybe lacking a little but I will pass better judgement after a few more goes with it. Over all very pleased.
The brush is super soft and has plenty of back bone suitable for face and bowl lathering.
Finished off with my usual Thayers witch hazel and a generous splash of Joop this evening.

Enjoy your shaves :)
I've sent one to @Benz3ne to get stripped, could be an option.

Razor: Valet Auto Strop
Blade: Feather FHS-10
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush: Fine Stout Synthetic

First use with a Valet, which is on loan to me from @Electrif and it's the same razor which caused @Kevy a few problems in a recent video. Excellent shave, no problems and really enjoyed it the shave.

Let's see how this one goes first! :p I've also made some enquiries about plating kits but the outlay is a bit bigger than just stripping the items... :p
Everything is crossed :D
Thank you for the heads up Kevin. It sounds like a plan to me.
Who are you sending it onto for re-plating mate?

Many thanks,
Wayne. :)
If all goes well I'm not, how many brass slims have you seen? :D
