Brush: Omega 10098
Razor: Gibbs No 16 w/ Rapira Swedish Super Steel (3)
Soap: d'Ardenne, Short & Bell Coconut
Post: Thayers Rose, Nivea 2 Phase & Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey pour homme
Snack: Bounty :D

A very interesting razor to use, one side is aggressive and the other mild as indicated by the +/- on the cap. With that in mind I shaved my left side with + and my right with -. Gods honest truth I can tell no difference between them, there may be a slight difference in feel but it isn't anything too noticable, not like an R89 one side and R41 the other. A very comfortable shave, I did notice the blade is a tight fit on the middle post, as compared to a No17, but once you get the cap complete and screw it in it fits perfects when you hear the slight manipulation of the blade. My next use will be with a NOS Gibbs blade, they look in perfect condition.

The new soap from @OSP's sister company was wonderful, loaded for about 20-30 seconds and in truth that was far too long and loaded a plentiful amount of soap. Used a decent amount of water and got a thick, creamy and slick lather. The scent is very nice, doesn't seem as sweet as Trumpers Coconut Oil shaving cream and in the interests of science I had a Bounty too for scent analysis :D. If you're wanting Hawaiian Tropics coconut this isn't for you. I really liked it and I could see this getting regular use throughout the Summer, these new soaps get a thumbs up from me. Looking forward to Kyoto.

Thur 11th May
Vulfix 404 mixed
Vitos Super Red-croap
ES Claymore Se- V1
Schick Proline P=20 [ 7 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Tuff Green A/S lotion

Had a rather disappointing Shave with the Brass General, It would seem that for me the Feather Pro is only good for about 5 shaves. In comparison today had a really enjoyable outing with the Claymore/ Schick Proline blade, not only was it smooth, quick and ultra close all round but it was in the Face Stroking category. Shame these blades are hard to get hold off, my current supplier is out of stock. We need someone in the Shaving business to import some from beauba.com

It would appear that the initial good performance of the Pro is not long lasting , for me anyway.
With the Alu General/ Schick Proline I have managed 10 good shaves. Have now to try the Pro
out in the Claymore, and the Schick out in the Brass General to give the pro a fair assessment.

First shave with general....DFS achieved !!
@Blackmass
I've noticed quite a few of the guys on here change over the aluminium handle to a ss to add extra heft to the razor.
I actually enjoyed using the razor as is and found it to be a pleasant change from my ss razors, (variety and all that ) A nice smooth shave with no mishaps or redness, also the head of the general is similar to that of my ATT SE1, a + for me.
I would like to thank Olly, AKA, @Looney12345 for giving me the opportunity to own this razor, cheers mate !!
I'll see how the general shaves in the days/weeks ahead , so far so good.

HAVE A NICE DAY FELLAS

I've looked on the net but can't find these razors for sale in the UK.
Have any of you guys bought yours from the UK?
Cheers

Likely travel kit for two months in Cambodia and Vietnam. No complaints at all about the QShave.

Edit: Well actually, after posting I realized some spots on me head could have used more buffing. The AC blade equipped 1914 took care of those areas quickly.

It's my only vintage DE in my inventory, but she's a beauty. It felt a bit flimsy when I first felt it in my hand, but man, she cuts my beard hairs like crazy...and a good comfortable shave.
They do feel slightly flimsy at first,i agree ... But once your mind gets use to the lightness of them, with a good blade match, i find these little ladies can give you a sublime shave..i normally use a Gillette Sliver Blue with "Gillian 1"..she was my first Vintage Gillette, &"Gillian 2" was my second.. and only Vintage DE's..Both give a satisfactory shave.;)

Thursday...

Soap - OSP Neroli
Brush - Semogue 2000 boar
Face lather
Razor - Ever Ready 1912 'Streamline'
Blade - Gem Personna
Post - Thayer's and 4711 EdC
Smell - Dior Eau Sauvage EDT (not in picture)

Outstanding shave, this afternoon. A slow, careful approach with the ER pays dividends. Smooth as butter. The OSP, as you'd expect, provided plenty slick, cushiony, tallowy goodness. Neroli is a perfect scent for a nice sunny day. The Eau Sauvage was a late, post-picture inspiration.
