My second ever outing on this razor, that was most unsatisfactory on the last outing. Like many
I had great difficulty getting the right angle. This time I was prepared to take it slowly, and the
Razor felt good on the face, though I had to play around and feel for that angle, which seemed to vary.
Did not time the Shave, but by not rushing I actually achieved a nice close finish on my face,
the neck was not too good. The shave action was this time quite smooth, and I suffered no mishaps or post shave irritation.

Oh boy, the Lavish soap is exactly as I expected in terms of performance. The citrus musky scent smells pretty frecking amazing too. It has some similarities to Wickham's Citrus Musk. My skin is very happy right now!

My Saturday shave -

Pre-shave - warm shower, Wright's cold-tar soap and Village Barber Shaving Oil
Razor - Muhle Rocca R96.
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (day 4).
Soap - Proraso Eucalyptus & Menthol Soft Shaving Soap.
Brush - Simpsons Duke 2.
Post shave - Myrsol "Metilsol" Astringent After Shave and Kiehls Post Shave Repair Gel.

Very enjoyable shave, efficient 2 pass, slight touch-up required on the chin.

For me the Rocca R96 with the Gillette Silver Blue blade is a winning combination, I appreciate that YMMV.

Have a good day.

Razor - Gillette slim adjustable 1963 (7)
Blade - Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge (3)
Brush - Semogue 620 boar
Soap - OSP Fougere
Post - Thayers WH cucumber , Dove ASB
A/S - Fine Platinum

Nice shave today with the slim and one of my favourite soaps , the OSP fougere.Finished off with the Fine platinum.

ENJOY YOUR DAY FELLAS
Great stuff, the Fougère, Pat. My first OSP.

Saturday 28th

Soap/Croap - Proraso Sandalwood
Brush - Omega 10800 boar
Face lather
Razor - Ever Ready 1912 (U.S.)
Blade - Gem Personna #2
Post - Thayer's Rose and Proraso Sandalwood a/s

The U.S. 1912 was my first foray into the SE world. I remember thinking that these things look like instruments the Inquisition would use; but they do give lovely, smooth shaves. The English variants might be a bit more assertive, but not to the extent that the American chap needs much more work to get a good finish.

Post shave feels great with the Proraso combo. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Got carried away with my neck so a little raw. Cheeks smooth. Shouldn't take long to settle down.
