A super close and very smooth enjoyable shave was had this morning
The scent, protection and glide & slide from the OSP was fab as always, and the razor and blade worked in perfect harmony.
Finnishing off with the wonderful BBA post shave balm and an application of Tom Ford esq Tabacco Vanille oil which is very nice indeed

I don't mean to be Padantic BM, but isn't your razor a Muhle R41 2013 ?...Merkur don't make a R41.Regards.;)

You are absolutely correct Foxy , must have more coffee before I write up my SOTD. Thank you for bringing it to my attention :) Merkur should make one though, I think it would be very good! :)

Morning gents,

Second shave with the RX Asylum last night, loaded up with a new Proline blade. Also my first use of one of those special @Fox soaps, this time red rose. Gorgeous scent.

Lathered up with my Shavemac ATG 3 band silvertip, gorgeous brush, super soft, but with decent backbone. Really enjoying using this. Generated a gorgeous (thinner/more hydrated) lather than my last outing with the RX.

The blade feels nice, smooth and sharp in equal measure. I'll be having at least a couple of magazines coming soon enough I think! That said, the shave with the RX just wasn't as good this time, after two passes, I was clean, but not quite as smooth as when I used the Kai Protouch MG. I also had a couple of weepers and a tiny nick, plus some irritation on my neck to boot. This compared to no irritation, no weepers, no nicks, when using the Kai Protouch MG and I had a better finish then as well. Not the best shave, equally not the worst. I'll be getting a number of shaves under my belt with this razor, using different blade combinations to truly understand if this is one to keep or not.

Finished up with the 1912 Classic 24 balm, same tingling/a bit of redness as last time, but again it left me feeling more smooth/nourished/protected than otherwise not using it and the scent is still fantastic :)

Hope you guys out there get to enjoy the glorious weather instead of being stuck indoors like me!

Thank you muchly :) I'll try and do something a bit different when it comes to the picture for that razor but no idea what yet, will probably be the same sort of set up knowing me lol.

Was an amazing win, so chuffed. I am sending a little luck your way! Honestly you won't believe it but those two wins are the ONLY two times I've ever won something even relatively substantial. Prior to that I don't win much!

Very slow start to the day as its the week in the month that I work both night and day with only a couple of hours sleep.
Decided it would be a treat to use the new brush, and the second of my recent soap purchase.
Really nice shave, easy lathering with the synthetic brush, now recharged and ready to lock and load again.

The proline blade performed well this time, smooth shave with no nicks or irritation. Glad I decided to give them a second chance.

Good to hear the blades have improved. I've only used the Proline's with The General and I prefer them to the Feather Pro's. I have used the Kai Captain Mild (No guard) in The General and really liked them, mild but smooth enough not to cause any irritation.

You should try the Proline in The General next. I've got an ATT SE1 arriving shortly on loan. I'll be trying the Proline with it too.
