S.O.T.D. Saturday 17th June to Friday 23rd June 2017

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
Pre shave - Proraso
Razor – Merkur 34C HD
Blade – Astra S/P
Brush - 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap – Barrister's Reserve: Spice
Post - Cold water rinse / The Sudsy Soapery: Lavender & Peppermint Aftershave Splash

Having finished work earlier than usual, I had time to shave with Barrister's Reserve: Spice.. Now, some of you may know, that I don't really get along with the Glissant base soaps, in that they don't offer me the protection that I need for an irritation free shave.. So, enter Barrister's Reserve.. I can honestly say, that the shave I've just had was FAULTLESS, and believe me, I was looking for them! It gave me a super slick shave, with all the protection I could wish for, and the post shave feel was soft, and moisturised.. STELLAR!

Brush: Omega 10098
Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Muhle (2)
Soap: Phoenix and Beau Solaris
Post: Thayers Rose, Old Spice Whitewater

Last shave with the Tech (thank God!) and the best shave yet but not a great shave. The Muhle felt better in this use. Milder day here, no sun today but grey skies. Onto the Gibbs tomorrow and last day of Solaris for the week.

Greetings All,

Thursday shave.

One days' growth and warm shave

Preparation – face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: Prorosa white pre-share
Soap: TOBS - Sandalwood Cream
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Shark Razor (4th)
Brush: RazoRock 400 Noir

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, then a shower, followed by Proraso aftershave lotion (Red) and Proraso post shave cream (white)

Shark blade still performing well on forth use - I am liking these blades (risk a 5th shave?!?!?).

New brush
today – Razorock 400 Noir Synthetic lathered the TOSB cream wonderfully well – have I a new favourite brush – early days. The TOBS Cream lathered up extremely well, and I love the scent. The lather was slick, great residue slickness. Did 3 passes (WTG, XTG and ATG), no need for touch ups and no crimson. Still a little neck irritation, but nothing overly distracting - Good times :D

Evening Shave

Baxters of California Face Wash, bloom water.
OSP Grapefruit & Menthol Soap.
Vulfix 404.
EJD89.
Astra SP (1).
Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (unscented).
OSP Grapefruit & Menthol Aftershave.

I certainly underestimated the efficiency of the Fatip Piccolo and Permasharp combo yesterday. On waking this morning my face was still remarkably smooth a full 12 hours after shaving. And 24 hours in, I was still marvelling at the closeness of the previous shave.
So I decided upon a leisurely shave with the EJD89 and an Astra SP. This was the combination I started my DE shaving odyssey with, and I like to return to it occasionally. Three passes with minimal pick ups for a very smooth face. I must ask - is a dolphin smoother than a baby's bum?
