QShave-4 beard, Rockwell 6C-4 head shave. First use of the Coate's Tea Tree, decent but not exceptional. I like the comfort of the 4 plate, and buffing ATG was quite easy. Nice shave.[IMG]

    Gillette Blue II
    Coate's Tea Tree
    MO 2016 HMW
    Brut Original

I started a tryout for plastic disposable razors that are accepted in cabin baggage.

First was the Gillette Blue II from which I removed the greasy strip. It was really awkward not feeling the blades on the skin but the overall result was acceptable.

Next up are Bic Metal and Bic 1.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower, L'Oreal Pure Power Face Wash and Proraso White
Razor: iKon X3 + Windrose Handle
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (#2)
Brush: Maseto 2 band finest 24mm
    Soap: Tabac
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphrey's Witch Hazel
AS: L'Oreal Hydra Energetic Pure Tonic

Not used the X3 for a while but today was pretty good, when I first got the X3 I was finding it difficult to get good shaves but I seem to have got accustomed to it now. Well mostly, while there were no nicks or weepers applying after shave gave a bit of a sting so maybe too much pressure. The Maseto brush and the Tabac made short work of creating plenty of great lather. The L'Oreal after shave is new for me and it seems quite good for a cheap after shave.

Fantastic shave. Best smelling shave soap made by a commercial maker IMO.

Not the best three pass shave, got a small nick above my top lip.
Despite the slickness of the shave oil, and going gentle, I'm still getting razor burn/rash on my neck. I even got it when using cartridge razors on and off over the last. few years.
I think the skin on my neck has got more sensitive with age.
I have a permanently red neck, not the best look !

Brush: Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Sunrise Synthetic
    Soap: Reef Point Soap Admiralty

Another near BBS with this line up. One of if not my favorite brushes with an excellent soap, good razor and blade combo, and an outstanding aftershave. TA DA. :)

    Evening Paul,
Not too bad. Approached with caution having hear all kinds of tales about it's aggression  Found it to be fairly smooth. Might be beginners luck....

I think it's mostly caused by my doing passes across and against the grain to achieve a closer shave.
The beard growth is in several different directions on my neck.
If I try to only go with the grain the result is as if I haven't shaved it at all.
I've only had this problem for the last few years.

  19. Perhaps you may want to try a more aggressive razor, a sharper blade, a tallow soap.
    Good luck...:)

    Thanks

I'll go with the Futur (set quite low) and Mitchell's Wool Fat for my next few shaves.
I tried a Feather blade in the Futur for the first time last week and my whole face and neck were stinging.
I've got some black Treet blades coming so I'll try those or an Astra SP
