Rotation, cessation, donation and temptation

my rotation seems to be a bit different and almost the opposite of @Fox - once i have a soap - i'm using it (unless it's a dud then it becomes shower soap - i'm looking at you Boots stick). i pick half a dozen soaps i want to use up at the beginning of the year (and a/s, balm etc) and rotate between them through the year. i usually concentrate on one soap and switch when i'm bored but get back to it for that sweet sensation of finishing a soap. i've never used a single full puck in one stretch (has anyone? how long does that take?)

so, i don't have soaps i want to pif as such - they are in my 'want to use' pile. i also don't have my eye on any future soaps as my aim is to use and finish the soaps i do have. this does not stop me acquiring soaps though! - it seems that just as i use a soap up Darron tempts me back into buying. this has happened a couple of times :)

ideally i would like to have a couple of soaps - cella + wickham's would fit the bill

Oh dear, i change cream or soap three or four times a year one for each season.

2016 saw winter supplied by a bowl of Proraso Sandalwood, spring with MeM regular cream, summer was Ingram and autmn is always Erasmic soap. So far in 2017 its still Proraso red for winter, spring was St James Claisage and summer is catered for by Lea menthol . Am i being too sensible? [emoji43][emoji33]

I used to be a hoarder, and I would hold on to soaps and creams for one reason or another but just never get round to using them unless they were spot on. I guess they'd have parts of the qualities I liked but were somehow not giving me good enough shaves. @Fox has shown me the Jedi way to not let myself get caught up in soaps that don't cut it for me. So I've learnt to part with soaps and have made room by PIFing out whole tubs or sampling them out. i'm now trying to sample more than I buy. And this has allowed me to then only spend on full tubs that tick my boxes.

For now my list is
1) Wickham 1912 English Rose
2) Calani Cadre Noir
3) P&B vegan soap

Hmmm good questions Darron!

1.) Valobra Shaving stick due to travel ..plus it's a great soap!
2.) None really I use all my soap when I have chance, and my collection is small I actually only have your Classic 24, LPL and some samples in my rotation at the moment.
3.) A few spring to mind..1912 other scents, Stirling Glacial range, LPL tallow.

I don't have a ratation, I mostly decide 10 minutes before a shave. I shave everyday and I enjoy every shave so much that I wish I could shave twice a day.

1 - I have a few that I love, Cavendish, Cad, Mal Pais, Tombstone, Margarita in the Artic, Ozark Mountains, OSP Sandalwood, DR Harris Windsor and Marlborough and a few more, in fact, I already have back ups for these soaps.
2 - Reef Point Capuchino and Aviator, Tiki Go West, Stirling barbershop and Mountain Man, Miami Libre, etc
3 - Ghost Town Barber, dessert storm, Texas on Fire, etc.

If you ever want to move on your Reef Point..count me in..love that soap!;)

1. Mostly I chop and change daily but this week I have been using Phoenix and Beau Solaris for the past few days.
2. Pannacrema Nuavia Verde. I love the scent and performance but I haven't used it as often as I thought. I want to keep it but it tempts me to sell it but I just can't, on occasions when I use it I'm reminded how fond I am of it ...
3. A toss up between Barrister and Mann Seville & Abbate y la Mantia Don Jose
Give me first refusal on the Pannacrema Nuavia Verde if you do get to a point you do want to move it on

I bought a shed load of soaps a couple of months ago and I'm gradually working my way through them, spending roughly a week on each so as to get to know the soap, and improve my lathering technique. So I don't have an established rotation as such. But on the evidence so far it would be:
1 - Tabac
2 - OSP Barbershop. Performs as well as all OSP soaps do, but I don't really get a barbershop scent. It's just me I'm sure.
3 - Saponificio Varesino. Not sure which flavour yet.

I have a 20g sample of the Saponificio Veresino Manna di Sicilia here if you are interested? If so PM me your address and I will get it off to you. ;)

Here's my ones

1:1912 classic 24, this doesn't need any introduction, paired with the fine platinum and then the 1912 balm, it's absolutely superb every single time

2: I have a lot of reef point but don't seem to reach for them, I really must! Excellent soaps!

3: Tallow and Steel / L&L
Really want to see if it's hype or not on these two artisans, I've fell short a few times, got caught up in hype, bought something and ended up beet disappointed

Happy Sunday.

1. P&B Solaris. Love this, still undecided about getting more while there are still some stocks around. I only have a few shaves left, then your 1912 Scottish Heather will take over as the main soap.
2. Pre de Provence. It's really good, but I'm just not using it very often.
3. P&B pall mall, like yourself. I have the Oberon on pre order, but will probably get this as well.

Better make your mind up about P&B Solaris quickly as our stocks are running very low as are most vendors!

1. Castle Forbes Lavender. This combined with Santa Maria Novella Lavender aftershave and Jicky EdT then Jicky EdP is really doing it for me at the minute.
2. It's just gone. PannaCrema Nuàvia Rossa. Everything else is staying.
3. Toss up. Santa Maria Novella and the re-release of LPL Oud Santal.

1. Haslinger. Great performance and the small pucks mean you can just use it up.
2. Provence Sante. Good soap, just got too much
3. Wickham 1912 Cashmere (next up in the rotation, currently waiting in reserve) / LPL / Savon Du Moulins
