Rotation, cessation, donation and temptation

OK so you have a nice soap rotation going on, but there's one that's fallen out of favour. It's not getting the love and action it once had. Maybe it's time to pass it on, a PIF, trade or maybe you will sell it to help fund your next temptation.

I too have a rotation, though it maybe a little different in the sense that I will use a soap a couple of times and give it away. Even if it's better than what is in my rotation. You see I have my regular soaps that I like and am happy with. That said I still like to know what other people are producing and how they match up to my own products.

Talking to @flip-68 earlier today made me realise that you guys have a different kind of rotation going on and this has got me interested to know what's in your rotation.

--------------------------------------------------------

1) What is currently your most used soap in rotation?
2) What is the soap that really should be passed on but you find it hard to part with?
3) What do you have your eye on next to try?

My answers are;

1) Classic 24 - 1912 Wickhams
2) Ai - Bufflehead Soap
3) P&B's new Pall Mail soap when released

Interesting thread. I'll have a think.

I'll happily solve your Bufflehead problem!

1) Faena Mastic
2) Boots
3) Nothing.
I don't have a rotation as such - I pick whatever soap I fancy that minute or Tabac/Faena as a default.
I'm done buying more new soaps until I've used up what I've got. 2027?
I'll restock Faena and Tabac though

1. Mostly I chop and change daily but this week I have been using Phoenix and Beau Solaris for the past few days.
2. Pannacrema Nuavia Verde. I love the scent and performance but I haven't used it as often as I thought. I want to keep it but it tempts me to sell it but I just can't, on occasions when I use it I'm reminded how fond I am of it ...
3. A toss up between Barrister and Mann Seville & Abbate y la Mantia Don Jose

In no particular order, just as I feel like it ;- Wickham's Super Smooth Southsea Spray, Mama Bear, Myrsol Blue, Wickham's 112. I have other gr8 soaps I love, however those are my mainplayers.

I Coloniali Mango Oil

2) What is the soap that really should be passed on but you find it hard to part with?

None

3) What do you have your eye on next to try?

None

1. More recently, P&B Imperial Rum and Stirling Lemon Chill.
2. I've barely used my P&B Sanskrit of late. It was my first soap purchase but I'm perhaps not using it as much as I should*!
3. I do like the look of P&B Pall Mall. P&B Whitechapel does sound good as does their V60...

*I've a couple of soaps actually which I don't use too often. I'd love to be able to whittle down the choice to maybe 3 or 4 to suit me, but it's just not that simple! :p

1. P&B Solaris. Love this, still undecided about getting more while there are still some stocks around. I only have a few shaves left, then your 1912 Scottish Heather will take over as the main soap.
2. Pre de Provence. It's really good, but I'm just not using it very often.
3. P&B pall mall, like yourself. I have the Oberon on pre order, but will probably get this as well.

I don't have a ratation, I mostly decide 10 minutes before a shave. I shave everyday and I enjoy every shave so much that I wish I could shave twice a day.

1 - I have a few that I love, Cavendish, Cad, Mal Pais, Tombstone, Margarita in the Artic, Ozark Mountains, OSP Sandalwood, DR Harris Windsor and Marlborough and a few more, in fact, I already have back ups for these soaps.
2 - Reef Point Capuchino and Aviator, Tiki Go West, Stirling barbershop and Mountain Man, Miami Libre, etc
3 - Ghost Town Barber, dessert storm, Texas on Fire, etc.

1. Until today I liked all my soaps/creams, though probably use MWF the most.
2. Going to give the Erasmic Bowl another go with a less scritchy brush. If no improvement it's being sent to the shower.
3. PAA 11235, but the postage is prohibitive.
I asked Maggards if they would be stocking PAA products in the near future, and got a very terse "We will not be stocking their products" reply.

I bought a shed load of soaps a couple of months ago and I'm gradually working my way through them, spending roughly a week on each so as to get to know the soap, and improve my lathering technique. So I don't have an established rotation as such. But on the evidence so far it would be:
1 - Tabac
2 - OSP Barbershop. Performs as well as all OSP soaps do, but I don't really get a barbershop scent. It's just me I'm sure.
3 - Saponificio Varesino. Not sure which flavour yet.

1. Haslinger Honey mixed with a sample of Hungarian Tobacco and black amber soap
2. A 1000 gram brick Vitos Red
3. Looking for samples of dark and slightly sweet to mix with a rather bland Vitos Red
