Ridged shaving bowl?

Check a thrift shop you might get lucky like it did. I found a hard plastic (former dog or salad) bowl that works great. Fits in the palm of my hand, a nice baby blue, decorated in a 70's diamond pattern. I ran a razor blade across the bottom of the bowl to increase the agitation effect. Plus It's indestructible.

I was very lucky the other day. Went into a British Red Cross charity shop to drop some surplus clothing off and found this nice lathering bowl for £1.50.

Sits just right in the hand and has both ridges and bobbles to help build the lather. No makers mark, so I suspect an artisan product bought on holiday somewhere.

Very nice too. There are quite a few which are similar in appearance on the Etsy site. For some reason, most appear to be made by artisan potters in the USA and Canada. How do you find that style of handle to use?

Thanks.

I have to admit that the handle isn't particularly useful to me. Not big enough to fit a finger fully into, the bowl feels much secure when I just hold it in my palm.

Went back to same charity shop and found another, again for just £1.50
The ridges aren't quite as pronounced as its big brother, but still should do the job
Whilst I was there I enquired whether they had any more shaving gear, but unfortunately just these

Wasn't expensive at all ?

£40 plus shipping from Florida plus import duty plus £8 Royal mail charge.

Cheap as chips !
Think I paid £50 all in for the bowl, the brush and the matching razor stand, so when split into three items ( and the brush is very good I find) thats £16 each so Im happy enough with that. I wonder if she has put her prices up since I bought them?

I've seen quite a few bowls in TK Maxx over the past few months, with ridged interiors. I'm not sure what they are for, possibly pet food or just ornamental but they've mostly been in the clearance section. I haven't really been fussed on the colours, mostly white and brown. There are always non ridged bowls, I see ones all the time that are the perfect size.
