Found a pair of Solingen straight razors todays with a case and I'm thinking about buying them (must admit, never thought I'd be tempted with a straight but what the heck). I have no knowledge of what to look for in a straight so hopefully you guys can help me out. As I said there are 2 of them and it looks as if they haven't been used or sharpened. They both have black handles of some unknown material, by the tang they are marked '373 Bohers Co.', and the blades have a crown(?) with some rather elaborate scroll work and engraved 'Magnetic Silver Steel'. Think that in general Solingen has a good reputation but if you can give me some guidelines as to prices etc. it'd be appreciated.
Also, once these are sharpened and used once or twice a week how long should they last before needing resharpened? Why two razors? Do they need stropping or whatever after every shave? Any other information that I should know about?
