Post your watches

I received that watch, but on a bracelet rather than a strap, yesterday!

Very nice indeed and a great price (so good that it now appears to be sold out!) Just waiting for the tool to arrive that allows me to adjust the bracelet...

Curious - what tool do you speak of?

This:

Yes, I know that I could probably make do with a precision screwdriver and a hammer but I figured that a guy can never have too many tools and there's been a few times over the years where something like this would have been handy...

Very posh! LOL I've been adjusting bracelets for over 30 years, and my tool of choice is an old brass dart which I've sharpened (the type you throw at a board!), and some needle nose pliers. Never met a bracelet yet that couldn't resist my efforts. Though I accept, experience plays a good part. Good luck with your tool when it arrives...

Right, opinion time.

I'm after a final G-Shock so I have one for every workday of the week (I know, I know).

I want one of the classics, and Creation have a red or a white one. I already have a white one, so thought red might be good.

However, I wonder if it's too garish and a bit too 'yoof' for a 41 year old. Be interested to see what the rest of you think.

I am 49, would I wear one ? Yeah, long past giving any care to what other think, enjoy yourself and fulfil your itch.

Nice looking in both Red and White.

I've had this a few years really interesting technology... well I thought so at the time anyway. You move your wrist and the weight doesn't wind the watch, it charges a small capacitor which then runs the watch mechanically. Quite cute idea, no batteries or springs just a capacitor, unfortunately it needs a new capacitor.

Cheap enough I guess, but at some point I need to order one and fit it, probably send it off to fleabay and get a different shiny object with the proceedings :)

I have just done the capacitor in my Dad's old Seiko Kinetic, simple enough.

It's great seing all the love for these mechanical movement pieces, as a training Horologist....The futures bright ;)

I have these three watches for sale. I think they make a great start to any collection (a watch for the week, one for the weekend and a piece for exercise and/or DIY etc), so I would prefer to see them as a set.

I give you the Black Monster, the Orange Monster and G-Shock GW-5610-1ER, three classic watches to compliment any collection.

1460422d1397767629-post-your-artistic-watch-picture-1459939d1397737954-wruw-thursday-17-april-2014-bmunderwater.jpg

The watches are all in good condition and work well. The Orange Monster has seen the most use and as such it's bezel does not rote quite as smoothly as the newer Black Monster's does, but it is perfectly fine.

It's steel bracelet has been engraved on the clasp, which is also a little scratched (see below - this is not indicative of the watch's overall condition and came from catching it climbing in and out of swimming pools), so I'll include a few Nato straps for this watch. The Black Monster is on a rubber strap and is practically new.

I am really looking for £160 for the lot by PayPal, posted with insurance and to be signed for to your UK address. Happy to refund you on return of the watches (less the posting) if you are not delighted with them.

Drop me a message if you are interested, but please don't make any silly offers. My head is saying sell, but my heart isn't really in the same place, so I won't take much convincing to keep them!

Thanks for looking.

This picture shows how a Nato strap looks, albeit on the Black Monster.

In case you are not sure, the Monsters are automatic mechanical watches with no winding or hacking. Just give them a little swirl to get them going. The G-Shock is solar powered and the date and time are controlled by signals from atomic clocks. It never needs setting or adjusting.

Watch arrived today.. Would of landed quicker but due to the Easter break and me missing DHL yesterday.. Awesome service from creation watches.
