Know what you mean about the weight, but that's something I like about mine, and that thickness, oh and the luminous that lasts and lasts all night. I was considering a Hamilton for my 50th in July but after getting the monster, and seeing the SARB range I may well go for one of them. I quite like the SARB17 which is a Japanese Domestic Market watch.

Have crumbled (a couple of whiskys helped) and ordered one of these:

Mine came with a proper Seiko manual in a book format, not a photocopy.

I ordered the SRP307K which is the European version. It doesn't have 'Made in Japan'on the dial by the 8 and 7 o'clock markers and the day is in English and French.

The SRP307J has 'Made in Japan' on the dial and the day is in English and Arabic.

I prefer the European dial as the dial is less cluttered even though some forums say the resale value of the Made in Japan version is higher as the watch is made in Japan. The rest are made in a Seiko factory outside of Japan.

I couldn't find anywhere that said the Japanese one is superior.

Beautiful pictures here.. Excellent distraction after a long day :)

Here's my two for this week:

My black monster turned up today from Creation watches. Superb service, ordered Saturday and in Torquay by Wednesday.

If I never have to adjust another watch strap it will be too soon! The pins have got little collars on them and are a real sod (especially if you're a clumsy bugger like me). I managed it in the end, but not before losing a collar on the carpet (gone forever) and much Anglo-Saxon language!

Nice watch.

I know what you mean about the collars. I gave up in the end and took it to a jewellers.
Got it sorted for £3.

Does the day and the date line up on yours?
They are slightly off on mine.
Not enough to annoy me. Yet.

I'm desperately trying to avoid ordering an SNK809.

Same price (or slightly cheaper) on Amazon at the moment

Sorry!
I only noticed it because it was mentioned in a review I read.

Not really a big deal.

HairyMan - The blue one on Amazon is cheaper. I prefer the black one.

And

I need reasons not to buy it not incentives!

I agree, black looks nicer

Patience - the black one will be back at the Creation prices in a day or so. No risk of getting stung for any import taxes.

Does anyone have this watch? Any good?
