Patchouli Soap

Thanks, all. As it happens, I've gone and put my own together ...

I had a soap from Lasheba (on eBay) which I don't know that they sell any more. I think the criticism of the soap was that while it was a good shaving soap, it leaves pretty dry afterwards. That suits me just perfect!

The notes from the soap were already "sage, orange, turmeric & patchouli" but I'd poked this soap all over with a cocktail stick and smushed a further helping of patchouli essential oil in as well as a background of birch tar and cedarwood oils. It's a stinker! Pashana is listed as "patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood, rosemary and lavender which combine to create a long-lasting musky aroma with sweet tobacco notes" so while I'm missing the specific herbal scents and that creamy sandalwood, there's the sage from the original scent, turmeric and uplifting orange.

I've a soap that really does fit the bill and finishes so well with Pashana :D

I must get some new glasses, I keep reading the title of this thread as 'Patchouli soup'!

Hmmm ... not something I think would taste nice. Actually, the leaves are quite minty. Perhaps in a glass with rum?

Actually, according to Wiki:

"Culinary
Patchouli leaves have been used to make a herbal tea. In some cultures, patchouli leaves are eaten as a vegetable or used as a seasoning."

... and:

"Toys
In 1985 Mattel used patchouli oil in the plastic used to produce the action figure Stinkor in the Masters of the Universe line of toys."

Stinkor, eh? Gawd help us if Stinkor gets a hold of Pashana!
