I've been in John Lewis in Leeds earlier in the day and sampled some Sauvage. I asked the lady if she had a sample and she said Yes and gladly gave me two samples. I decided it was only right to go back to John Lewis as I wanted a full size bottle. When I went back not only did I get the best price I could find as the same lady asked me what I had seen it for and gave me a better price I cheekily asked for another sample to take on holiday that way I wouldn't have to decant some she not only obliged with a huge smile but to my surprise she gave me a 10ml sample bottle. Delighted isn't the word. I'll be honest I have never shopped in John Lewis before but after this really positive experience I will have no hesitation going back for more fragrance.

That's a great little sample bottle! I'm looking forward to receiving my bottle through the post! :D

It's a nice fragrance but for me its beaten by Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Popeye edition which is similar but fresher. Sauvage is really good though I'm sure you'll love it.
I managed to get two small samples to take home along with two small samples of Bleu De Chanel EDP which is my no.1 to buy right now. It is great though, everyone seems to like it enough (of course myself included) and it lasts all day. Plenty of boxes ticked! I do love the original JPG Le Male, though. One of my signature scents growing up, along with Hugo Boss Energise! :D

The washing out of the writing is exactly why I will not waste my hard earned on a Simpsons brush. They look OK but the quality control just isn't good enough since Vulfix bought them out. I would love a limited edition Chubby but I just cannot trust my money to them.

I was possibly a little hasty, after completely drying it looks perfectly fine.

Ah OK! thanks for putting my mind at rest out of interest what is the synth knot like?

I really like the chubby 2 Synthetic, you wouldn't even rearlise it was synthetic. More a cream brush but good with soaps as well. I face lather with no irritation.

The classic has a lot more backbone and feels more a soap brush maybe, that may change with more use as they do splay/soften a little in my opinion; just not as much as badger. I don't think I'll like this as much as the chubby but it's so different it'll stay.

I'll only use synthetics and after using a fine and a couple razorock ones I think simpsons are closest to the real deal with some better qualities.

Chubby 2 synth is fantastic... Classic 1 not so great in my opinion, the small and dense knot makes it a chore to use... That's what I found anyway - Oh and I've now had six Vulfix era Simpson brushes and not one has had any QC issues.

Great combination! I'm a little jealous your sticker on the chubby is straight!

I suspect your assessment of the classic is what I'll find. Duke 3 synth next I reckon.

Today I recieved back in good order my Gem Natral angle aka the GBar from esteemed fellow forum member and friend, @Blackmass ,thanks for taking good care of it mate.
Also a suprise came out of the blue from @Wayne Pritchard , a sample of L'Occitane Cade EDT and a sample of M-T Natral bay rum shaving paste, what a star you are Wyane, now I can try before I buy the L'Occitane Cade EDT , I nearly bought some a few days ago but decided to buy some Penhaligons sartorial EDT instead so I'm well pleased I can test this out before my next spend on smellys! Thank you :) I Will let you know what I think of both samples when tried. Paul.
