It is a very thirsty soap. I find myself dipping my brush in the sink at least twice, despite using a healthy amount of water to make the lather.

Shame about the rash. Hopefully, you’re still willing to try other scents and more water with OSP, as when you dial it in, it’s so good.

  2. I agree with Mbarn, Mike,...I get enough for three passes plus pick-ups from OSP and I'm very critical of soaps. I'm also using a scuttle, which can dry lather out, with no problem.
The rash may be the result of poor lather, but I bet the BBA cleared it up :)

  3. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance then and should have added some water. I'll give it a chance another day when I get hold of some. Sorry that must have been auto correct it was bbr post (blue beards revenge) I used, rash was still there a few days though.
Anyways enough about me. Box has been posted on today. Hope @PewterRaven enjoys it as much as I did.

You can blame me for BBR, as I added that. I have sensitive skin, but was ok with it, but obviously everyone is different. Amazingly the beard growth slowing ingredient works if you use the balm daily for a month or so. I just stopped using it when I upgraded to BBA.

  5. @Mbarn I'd like to thank you then as it smells good and feels nice to use. Just need to try both again separately to see what the culprit was. Or if it was as far cry toff said about poor lather by me not adding enough water. Hopefully one day I will find out my answer. Definitely recommend the proraso soap and pre to anyone that is yet to try. There's a reason so many people rate it so highly! Will be buying some soon

I’m just wondering, are you wetting your beard, then adding pre-shave, and painting on your lather to a basically dry face?
It’s what I would do, but the pre-shave contains glycerin, which sucks up some water. Adding a thirsty soap on top of that, without enough water is recipe for a dry/un-slick lather.

I’d recommend experimenting by dipping the tips of the brush in your water, after you face is covered in lather, and see how that little bit of water changes the lather on your face. If you mess it up, you can always add more soap.

  7. @Mbarn yes I was wetting first then adding the pre shave. I will have to research and experiment with soaps as you suggested to find the best amount of water. Thanks for the tips

  9. Hi Guys, just wanted to give you a quick update I’ve been away so not really had much chance to try many products out as yet.

What I have tried so far are 2 of the Phonex & Beau samples which are amazing and 100% will be purchasing them :) absolutely love the scent of the Albion.

I’ve also tried a couple of blades which I’ve not managed to try before and seem to get a really smooth shave with the Gillette Platinum blade.

Just a quick note how long should I keep this box for it’s taking me a while to get through it all with so much to go at.

  10. Hi jonathan. Glad you're enjoying it like many others like me. I was advised around 2 weeks was fair but I'm sure someone actually running the boxes will tell you soon.
