I reckon the disco haze, purple haze, moon java, lime and all those colours seem to be very popular at the minute if you look at the Simpson and M&F/Brad Sears websites..

You never know. The thing is resins are not the expensive part. when we had a Shavemac group buy recently the resins came from Woodturningz in the U.S they came in at $9.99 each and there was enough for two handles so once he decides to give it a go/or not. The resin part will be nothing in the quantities he'll be talking about. Fingers crossed.Just out of interest, the colours he currently uses seem to each have their own significance in terms of Chinese culture. Maybe there's a red handle in the pipeline...

Which 24mm handle do you prefer? I think the "Atlanta" is based on the classic Rooney while the "Spectrum" have a modern MÜHLE vibe going on. I'm gravitating towards the Atlanta personally (still not pulled the trigger!)

First test lather is promising...
It whipped up a lather in seconds. Loving these brushes. I can't wait for Nick to get the 24mm Fan knots in stock.

So, I think the Maseto brush is a great brush- I like everything about it. It's just that for me, I think it holds onto the lather just a bit more than I like. It won't stop me using it but I do have other brushes that load & release just a little bit better.

Just from running it across my palm, not really. But backbone can be deceptive. When I did the same with my Saponificio Varesino brush I was disappointed with the lack of backbone. Use I tried it with painting strokes I loved it and it's no secret it's my favourite brush.
I'll let you know use I've used it properly later tonight.

Which one have you got Michael 30mm or 24mm?
I had the same thing with the 30mm and I sold it on.
I had the opposite TBH with the 24mm. Loads of flow through. The most of any of the brushes I own.

They both feel great in the hand TBH, very ergonomic. Go with what you like the look of the most.

It's the 24mm Rob, the flow through isn't great. I lathered Cella in a bowl with it tonight but it wasn't good.

Give it a few test lathers and see if it improves. I've used my 5-6 times and but it worked well straight away TBH.

Exciting. Any clues to the identity 'special brush? Is it a custom?
