Nacet blades

Very impressed with Nacets. Just tried another one after going through a selection of blades recently - Gillette 7OC Green (the jury's out), 7OC Yellow (not a fan) and Polsilver SI, which up to trying Nacets were my fave. I think the Nacet has actually surpassed the Polsilvers for me.

Had a great 4 pass shave, rounded off the usual with an extra WTG pass simply because I had a ton of lather from the superb GFCC Lime cream which was too good to waste. Definitely the closest thing to BBS I've ever had.

I will now order 5 billion of them, enough to last several lifetimes

What's everyone's view on Nacet vs Rubbies? I have 5 of both and the Rubbies were amazingly smooth and sharp, but the price for Rubbies is quite steep.

They are both great blades, perhaps buying 50/50 Nacet and Rubie would offset cost and give some variety, maybe include GSBs too, 3 of the best blades around.

I've found Rubies to be a great blade as well but Nacet does everything I need to. If I was to bulk buy anything nowadays it would be Nacets. :) Most of it comes down to your determination of price vs performance, or 'value' if you will...

I simply love the Rubie and have used them for at least two years or better. I have used the Nacet for at least as long and the GSB even longer. Now is a good time to mention the 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (green Russian) and the 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge (yellow Russian) as these are both superb in their own right respectively. Sometimes a mere change of soap/cream and also a razor can turn what was an overlooked blade into a blue ribbon champ. ;)

Cheapest Rubie seller shipped from & to Europe for free I believe:

Thanks for the link. I won't be ordering just yet as I have a selection of blades to try out. All of the Gillette ones you've mentioned plus, Polsilver SI, Sharks, Feathers, Astras etc.

As you say changes in the rest of the shave make differences so I'll put each blade through a good selection of shaves, and most likely repeat the process a few times considering I have a 5-pack tuck of each blade. This is going to be a long but enjoyable process.
