Now we go for the Agua Balsámica (Balsamic Water). No menthol. You will go believe that you are at the Mediterranean countryside, arguably the best place in the world to live! Rosemary, thyme, spike lavender! Oh dear! What a peace of mind! What a charm! With Le Pere Lucien shaving soap it combines wonderfully. With Martin de Candre too. Well, you can see that in addition to science, I give you information, poetry and some opinion. It is what it is. I am this way. You should accept me as I am. In an English forum, a couple of crazy friends say that I'm a "trend setter". What is that?

I thoroughly enjoy your "way with english" and I would agree - you appear to set trends! (the rubberset aluminium is one that comes to mind lol) - your posts take a bit of concentration to read but are so rewarding - you manage to get humour through even though english is clearly not your first language! - yet the way you do it it is extremely colourful!
Now stop enabling and sell me some myrsol on the cheap (I'm Scottish you know!)

Oh friend. Excuse me for my poor english. Sometimes I took some english lessons, and I usually use Google translator to helping me. But here in Spain the old educational politics in languages was not the best one. Our language is very important in the world, but yours is probably more, and it is the more useful to communicate with the bigger set of people, no doubt. I would like to express better my thoughts when using it, but I do what I can. Thanks by your words. You are scottish, and I'm catalan, you know!

the astringent comes from the Alum (same as alum block) it tightens the skin, is antiseptic and helps stop weepers

Thanks! You are right!

Well, definitely you have bitten the hook. You are completely enabled. I bet you could not sleep correctly past night. We will see what we can do to manage your disorder. Maybe we need the help of the Doctor Martinellowsky, in the interim we manage to send you some samples. We do not want you to suffer an infart. Please breathe deeply, slowly. Count to three. So, either. Check the diaphragm. Do not hyperventilate. Please note that your heart rate should return to normal. If not, run to a hospital, please, be not a madman.

Heh, the Good Doctor can be relentless when he gets going. Very tough not to at least try whatever it is he's pitching at the time. Especially entertaining with him being his own best customer.

His marketing skills are great! Seriously, look at what surrounds the various Myrsol items. All beautiful brushes or razors or soaps or whatever. Master enabler if ever I saw one. Every forum benefits by having a member like him.

Martin

Oh, thanks to the Good Doctor, I am enjoying using the Emulsion in my rotation at the moment..........sheesh.

Oh, Martinosky, are you enabled too? Ho ho ho. How has happened that? Man, you are a box of surprises, and the voice of my conscience! Every forum not only benefits, even needs someone like you, also.

Dr.
Well done, that is very helpful and informative. It is also a testimony to your patience. Second language, maybe third with you being Catalonian? tied in with the aid of Google Translator!

Well I appreciate those real nice thoughts about me but it's giving me waay too much credit. Thank you though my friend for those flattering words. In your case however, those things you wrote are true.

Ok, so the way this Myrsol appeared was that some crazy Spanish guy sent out some to hook me in with. Yeah, someone in Barcelona who you might know. Yep, a box appeared, loaded with a 'best of Spanish shaving crap' theme to it. Very nice gesture and yes, a monkey or two came with that package.

Sheeeesh, it's tough to keep track of all the new things I didn't even know I wanted till recently!!

Electric Shave. Smells good, looooong better than the Williams Lectric Shave. The main component for sliding is the same which carries the Lectric Shave. I want to try it as a pre-shave, just for curiosity. We will see if it is useful or not. One time I tried Lectric Shave and was not bad, but nothing special, nothing relevant. Men, this product has nothing glamorous. I have not tried yet. But slide at hands a lot. An strange, rare feeling. Keep you informed.

BOTELEC.jpg

Gentlemen, I just tested the Electric Shave. Here we go with science.

A few days ago I applied it on the face but not shaved. Just to see what happen. It is absorbed or evaporated quickly. I think it must take a lot of alcohol. The formula is very simple. Provides an interesting freshness that lasts a long time. It was at night. The face and hands were left with a feeling of interesting slip, but were dry , apparently there was no greasy film. This feeling was a bit strange for me, I usually not use these products , or other pre-shave products . We're talking I did not shave, but after an hour I washed my face . As for the aroma, very good, but I do not know how to describe it.

This morning , with 36 hours beard, I proceeded to try it as pre-shave. In half face. The right side. I usually shave in the shower, I'm a "shower shaver ", but today I did out after the shower, in front of the sink and mirror, to check everything well, and for that product does not wash with shower .

I selected the gorgeous L' Occitane Cade soap, and a couple of brushes that I just restored (later I will post the photos). A brush for each half of the face, for not to contaminate with the product, and the test was better. Both Finest Badger knots, but from different suppliers.

Regarding the blade, I selected a Schick Super Krona from my friend Lambretto, which is not the smoothest one, or the sharpest one of which I have, but which provides a performance in the average or slightly above the average (it has been BBS).

Imagen%20824.jpg

The razor , the very reliable Weber ARC, a brilliant razor, which shaves closer with great smoothness, which makes good even to the bad blades. With UFO TiTAN handle.

So with all the equipment in front of the sink, Sunday morning, unhurried, massaging myself with Electric Shave in half face, lathering the other half face while it evaporates. The freshness of the massage is clearly seen . Finally, lathering the half face with Electric, and going to shave. My passes as I usually do . A razor edge for each half-face, not to invalidate the test. First pass, second lathering, second pass, thirs lathering bottom of the face, and last pass and retouches in difficult areas, changing directions, leading the lather with left hand from one area to another .

Very good shave, BBS. Although I like most in the shower. But doing it in the mirror without water running down my back has allowed me to hear the sound of the Weber haircut . Normally the sound of the water in the shower did not permit that.

On the product tested, the Electric Shave, I have not noticed significant differences in one half of the face versus the other. I do not know if there are, but I have not noticed. It must be said, a nice freshness, it does not spoil the foam, since it has evaporated quickly and you can lather the same way as it is not a greasy film . But I have not been able to find differences about slip issue.

Finally, I applied a generous dose of Agua Balsamica and now I feel I'm in heaven, in a Mediterranean heaven. I touch my face and yes, maybe I notice a little softer half face in which I have applied the Electric Shave, but the difference is very subtle, very subtle. I tried it with both hands, and corroborates it, a little softer the half in which I applied the Electric. But is not determinative, it is not scientifically proven, perhaps suggestion, because I have called my little son, who knows nothing of the test, to pass his hand over my face and he says I have softer the half face on I have not applied the product. You see. This is what I get. I do not think it will be a product that I will use a lot, because usually I do not use pre-shave products . But I know who to give it away.

At Christmas I received Emulsion, Aqua Balsamica & Blue. I've been using Emulsion as a pre and sometimes also as a post. The Aqua Balsamica is fabulous - I really love it. I actually prefer the scent of the blue but it seems that it reacts with my skin and causes some burning / itching . Looking at the table it shows that Aqua has no perfume but most of the others do. That maybe why I can use the Aqua but not the Blue. Before I order any other of the flavours has anyone else had this issue with Blue and any of the others?

cheers, Paul

I have ordered the Emulsion, Plastic Shave, Blue, Formula C and Formula F.
I already have - and love - Antesol and Plastic Shave. Yeah, had to buy another Plastic Shave even though I could have tried another instead. I love it!
There was one I tried a sample of but didn't like. I think it was the balsamica. Worked well but I didn't like the smell.

Where did you get yours from?

Yourshaving.com . I also ordered Floid black a/s and Floid Blue cologne. Website gives the impression shipping is free even when you select pounds as the currency and the language American (not English?!!). You only find out the shipping isn't free when you get to the penultimate stage of checkout. But on my order it was £18 and this was the cheapest

Several months on from last post on this topic and just checking to see if there are any updates to availability of Myrsol (maybe in UK other than Carters, which seems rather pricey). A quick look seemed to indicate there might be 10 flavours which get most mention........ (excuse scrappy spelling)

Almost all bottles (the 200ml plastic ones) are 12.95 euros (£9.23)

Agua balsamica
F extra
Metilsol
Formula C
Blue
Emulsion
Aqua limon
Plastic
Formula K
Masaje (Antesol)

Haven't compared Gifts and Care directly with Your Shaving.com but G and C looks cheaper (assume postage to be 12.95 euros?)

If you bought all ten, would you expect a bit of discount or maybe free postage? Without discount and including postage from Gifts and care it tops a hundred pounds.

Is Dr. D. from G and C?

And, more to the point, why would you buy all ten? Maybe because it's such good stuff?

Finally, how might something like Murray and Lanman's Florida Water shape up in comparison in terms of performance. Obviously the smells are gonna be different. I happen to like the latter but it doesn't last long (but is lovely for a few delicious minutes).
