Merkur Progress 500/570 - differences?

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Merkur Progress 500, and the 570 of the same razor? The two appear identical on the Connaught site, except the inclusion of a plastic case?

The only thing that is different is with the 570 you get a travel case and five extra blades (10 instead of 5) that's it!

That's it. You get a breakable plastic travel case.

Reading both discriptions all looks the same apart from box and blades.

I have a 'Mergress', with the coloured dots, which I bought some years ago. I never fancied the original Progress. I think it was the plastic handle that put me off.

You can take a look at the Bullgoose site and check out the Eskimo progress or as I like to call mine the Eskimogress! Very nice indeed.

Razor 90 500 001, (L), with
adjustable blade system, in
plastic box with 10 blades

The 90 500 001 is the "500".

I think it first started production in the 50s' which explains the plastic knob. A nice razor to use and gives a great shave.

The base/guard plate was originally matching plastic.
