Yes they did/still do have a barbershop in Newcastle where they did keep a few item's for sale , the main mail order business was not run from there though , I did pay them a visit once , not sure what the operation consist's of now though

Chris, I've phoned Paypal in the past. This is the only number I could find. You may already have it though.

The whole affair is unedifying. I have contacted PayPal a couple of times fairly recently and found them really helpful. As has been said bring up the item and get the code for phone contact. I'd be very surprised if they didn't sort it out straight away. Once or twice the operator has been in the Phillipines and on other occasions, the UK. But invariably helpful.

This isn't the first time the very same thing has happened, is it? If the firm is consistently treating people so badly they deserve to be named and shamed.

Well very weird..as no refund has been sent via Paypal or otherwise?? Seems Maguire's have changed my order status without actually sending a refund..as no Paypal notification has been received.

I will speak to a Paypal agent a little later..

Very surprised by Maguire's...odd to say the least.

I had no idea about this either but honestly I hope they do fold. Of course I hope the honourable gent gets his money back. It will be the best way for dissatisfied customers and perhaps one of few ways to prevent issues like this from happening again.

I had the exact same experience a couple of years or so ago over an order of some Ogalalla Bay Rum. Once the case was marked "Refunded", Paypal closed the dispute, though no refund was ever forthcoming and I never recived my order either.

Hi Chris, thanks for your input on this thread..apologies about that..that's b***dy ridiculous! I am still awaiting an outcome on my Paypal dispute claim. I am hoping to get a refund as Maguire's haven't replied at all to any of my phone calls, emails and messages via the dispute., however we will see what happens!:eek:
