How do you listen to your music?

I love Spotify. Stream a lot of music particularly in the car, and at work.

Recently bought my first ever turntable. An affordable Audio Technica LP60. I now have a very meager record collection.
I am really surprised by how many people buy turntables again. We saw the CD as a revolution when it arrived!

Pitralon forever - Real pens have a nib - If it doesn't tick, it's not a watch.

I'm using Roon to play my ripped CDs and Tidal on various systems around the house, and I really like it. Before that, it was all Squeezebox. I feel nostalgic about vinyl, but won't be going back.

Terabytes of music on hard drive streamed wireless to arcam r dac, roksan kandy amp
and tannoy revolution speakers mostly.
also have candy cd player and rega p3 record deck.

I have a playlist on youtube. I listen to my music on my headphones on mobile and/or headphones on a PC at work.
At home, my PC is connected to a TV so I play it from there without the headphones :)

I don't download or buy anything anymore

I have a Tidal subscription and though I have 2.5 TB or so of music on hard drives, 90% of the time I just use the streaming service. I love being able to control the music remotely on my phone from the den (the music lives in the living room. I use a Google Chromecast when I want the remote control capabilities.

I do still use my turntable for the few hundred records I didn't give away. I value the ritual aspects of vinyl playback. Like wet shaving.

Still a lot of kit but no CD player:

Heavily modded Technics SL1200
Quicksilver tube phono preamp
Truth preamp
Audio- GD Reference 5 DAC
Dedicated X220 Thinkpad
Speakers not pictured are JBL LSR305

good looking setup

Usually through car speakers or my laptop (on way to work and at work respectively). Need better speakers for the former, need decent headphones for the latter.

Using Spotify Premium these days, quality changed to 'high' in settings as I'm usually in 4G zones or have access to Wifi. Quality is decent enough for me in both situations.

I've ripped my CDs to mp3 and now buy music digitally from Amazon (no DRM), although a couple of times it's been cheaper to buy the CD so I've done that and ripped it. My entire music collection lives on my NAS, with my most popular stuff on my laptop and phone. I tend to listen with headphones or my Bose Soundlink Mini, I keep toying with the idea of one of the bigger Bluetooth systems but the Mini is so small I can have it next to me wherever I am, so it doesn't need to be as loud.

Over the past couple years it's 99% CD. Which is criminal really with the record deck I own. I own a top spec'd LINN LP12 but I never use it. I'm thinking of selling it and buying a cheaper deck. I have over a thousand records so I still need a deck. I'll be having a demo of a few decks soon, including the Well Tempered Versalex, Roksan Xerxes 20+ and Rega RP10.

I've contemplated moving to Streaming but it just doesn't appeal to me. I still like the physical side of owning/buying music.

I just use Foobar2000 on the laptop and a pair of £30 headphones these days... Used to be into hifi something crazy with a never ending parade of new components, glad that nonsense is over.

Would like a Devialet Phantom one day though :D

Hehe everybody's different. The physical aspect of owning CD s I consider an abomination. Clacky same same plastic boxes that break, album art too small to appreciate, "forever" discs that scratch, they're a complete waste of space. Mine are all in shoeboxes under beds where they belong, never missed.

Mine are in boxes in the loft where they are gradually being joined by my DVDs.

These days, it's mostly streaming through Spotify Premium. Which still vexes me a little considering the size of my vinyl & CD collection, and that a decent hi-fi setup has generally been a crucial constant in my life since teenage years.

At least it goes through a reasonable setup – Acoustic Energy AF109 floor standers fed by a Yamaha AX396 amp. This is the main family living room AV setup.

All my vinyl has been in storage for the past ten years and my CDs are accessible but rarely used. I've not owned a turntable or dedicated CD player since 2010.

Convenience, sadly, is king.
