Shaving creams

Thanks Traditional shaving company, been using my Sensitive cream since Wednesday and so far it's great it smells brilliant even though it's lightly fragranced. Of course I need a few more days for a full review but so far I am very impressed even compared to my £17 truefitt & hill creams

The Progress was excellent and the Polsilver keeps going...

The scent from the cream was very good, bowl lathered without issue and it has a nice zesty zing; cushion and glide were fine but I didn't find offer much in the way of residual slickness and no issues post shave.

I used the Limes shave cream for the first time yesterday.
It was easily whipped up into heaps of lather, and the scent grew and grew and was very zesty.
I too found it was a little lacking in cushion and residual sickness but nonetheless it performed quite well.
I will use it for my next few shaves with different hardware, and I'll experiment using more and less water, face and bowl latherIng before I leave a thorough review.

Thanks again to Matthew and the team at The Traditional Shaving Co

It's weird how people testing exactly the same shaving cream all come out with different experiences. Lots of people saying the shaving cream is very slick, others saying it isn't as slick as they expected. The same for post shave and cushion. Just goes to show that it really does come down to the end user and what they prefer - there is no "best" for everyone :)

Our aim with this shaving cream was to produce a high quality product that compared to the likes of Trumpers/Truefitt etc with really nice fragrances and that were sold at a lower price point (by making the product smaller). A lot of people struggle to justify spending £17 on a shaving cream so we wanted to make it a bit easier to swallow with a £12 price point. I know the price per ml isn't cheaper but it seems to help a lot of people. From the feedback so far I think we've achieved that goal which makes me very happy and thanks again for all the feedback so far. I'm especially pleased that so far everyone has had positive things to say about the fragrances which is what I consider to be the strongest selling point of these creams.

Quick poll for people who are using the shaving cream already - are you happy with the fragrance levels as they are or would you have preferred a slightly stronger scent? I was aiming for a level that was noticeable and enjoyable when shaving but not overpowering. Whilst I'm happy with how they have come out, I am considering increasing the fragrance ever so slightly on the next batch. What do you all think?

I did think the Leodis smelled stronger when lathering. It was nice in the tub but I got a definite hit when I whipped it up.

Since the Sensitive is probably aimed at those of us with more problematic and possibly reactive skins I'd say the fragrance with it is about the correct level Matthew. The soap has a mild clean linen type scent which is mild enough to avoid causing skin reactions whilst still being unobtrusively pleasant. Obviously this variant is aimed at a slightly different shaver from the other creams.

Yes I agree, the sensitive one wouldn't be increased as it is intentionally low.

Picked up my Leodis from the post office this evening. I have not had chance to try it for a shave yet.

In terms of the scent I think it is plenty strong, I would say it needs to be dialed back a bit. In terms of the actual smell I am in two minds over it, I would say it is floral. I am not entirely sure if I like it yet.

I have only Palm lathered it so far and that was fine, whipped up nicely from a tiny amount. It should go pretty far in usage.

The packaging is great, the box is really nice. I love the print on the inside. The tub is fine, like you say the softer tub helps durability in drop's etc. I would not change anything about it.

On a personal note I think I may have made a mistake choosing the Leodis. I seem to be having reactions to scented soap and it they are giving me terrible acne. I might have been better choosing the sensitive option as I may end up going down that route if reactions persist. Though it could be related to using a Badger brush as I seem to have more reactions after that than a synthetic.

I'll pass it on to another member if it proves unsuitable for me, that way it can be enjoyed by someone.

One last thing, it is great to see more shaving products made here. And I hope the product continues to do so.

It has an interesting scent (I'm struggling to describe it fully but I definitely like it and it is sufficiently strong enough for my tastes). I found there to be no issues with latherability, slickness, cushion or post shave feel. I do use a pre-shave oil, though, before every shave and live in a very soft water area of the UK, so these may have a had a bearing on the result.

This is definitely a cream I'd purchase myself in the future as I really like it. :)

Did couple of mornings with the Leodis, certainly never shaved with a cream named after a Photographic archive before

Solid cream IMHO, the scent is to my shnoz a cross of Aquatic ala Cool water and green apple, like Maca root on steroids.

It's a slick cream, more than TOBS as far as I can tell.
I only shave with a Krona and a G. Contour and in both cases did a good job in the lather department using a synthetic brush.

I don't know what cushioning means but slickness and protection was there and certainly a good creation there.

Post shave is another thing I don't care much about as I use splash heavily.
