First Open Comb Razor

@AnthH - nice one - you went for it. I had to look that one up. I don't use that many open-combs in my rotation but there are times when you want to be super-clean shaven. In theory and in practice - open combs leave a bit of your lather on the face between strokes. Helping minimise irritation during the ritual. I don't know but that looks like a facsimile of some old Gillette razor. Other people here will know better. Hope you like it. I
Thanks yes iv heard that before strange you would think the blade would remove the lather just the same as a Closed Comb Razor

I did check out some videos of the fatip on youtube I think it may be to aggressive for my fist try with one but I do like the look of it and I might get one in the future , iv ordered a merkur 25c for my first open comb which some people say is mild
In my experience the Fatip is simply a very efficient razor, I bought mine as I had read many positive reviews, but before it arrived I then read how many find this razor aggressive. So when it arrived it was with some trepidation that I used it the first time, I need not have worried as it turns out to be my favourite DE razor, so far at least. Like any DE razor to get the best from it you need to get both the angle and the pressure right, i.e. no pressure or the possibly the minimum amount that gives a smooth and efficient result. For me the Fatip just works.

@Digimonkey I have an iKon 103 head inbound so good to hear it works well for you, I got mine from Maggards and even with the postage it works out quite a good price, it is just taking forever to get here.

@AnthH In my opinion - It does seem to be a bit counter-intuitive - but in operation, the blade comes first then - with a closed comb razor - the 'safety bar' mops up the rest of the lather - given the angle you hold the razor at. Apart from the cheeks - the blade is not likely to be working along its full length. Open combs allow some lather to remain. When you get your new razor - you'll see - hopefully - the distinctive stripey pattern left behind after each stroke. Keep them short and never shave anywhere without lather on it. Hope this helps. I've got the 25C and its a great razor. The open comb is just little bit different from normal. Very good for coarser hair and longer growth.
