Fees Please

I wouldn't ever not pay the fees for anything I'm buying online via PayPal, whomsoever it is at the other end. I have always included the miniscule amount in the price, usually to my detriment. I must admit it never occurred to me that people were using it as a way of circumventing the TSR rules and were therefore proving themselves dishonest rather than merely idle.

Now I do know I will not purchase from people who do that ever again. If they are willing to be dishonest over pence...

But I think some of the guys above are suggesting it's so they can give their potential buyer the best deal possible...

I look at loads of stuff on here but haven't bought much recently ...

I'm looking at a lot of brushes but I already have 3 and I don't feel like I need any more

I'm having trouble parsing that.
I have calculated the fees and added them to the price I paid on a couple of occasions. I only tend to buy cheap stuff though because I have little cash to spare.

Don't be so obtuse :D You said henceforth you'll not buy from anyone that doesnt include fees in their asking price... Now, having looked at your feedback you've only got 1 which indicates that you either very, very rarely buy or sell anything or the experience was so ghastly your trading partners chose rather not to leave any feedback... I'll assume the former.

Of course, if I've misunderstood I apologise unreservedly but as I understood it... Well, it just seemed jolly odd throwing around terms such as "dishonest" and "lazy" and claiming the moral high ground whilst rarely to never even participating in the issue this very thread is about.

Haha, you're the only person to ever leave me feedback on here mate!

I have sold 2 razors and bought soaps twice but nothing else ever went on, so it may be less common for some people to leave feedback than others!

I only have one feedback too and have bought and sold quite a bit. You're assuming that people use the feedback system for every transaction which is plainly not the case.

Did the sales from the old site carry over as well? Did I leave Feedback every time?
Does it matter? I pay my taxes by PAYE yet I still comment on Tax avoidance. This forum exists largely because we all work together on trust, if you sell things on here you should follow the rules, they aren't harsh.
I did think you were being snotty but couldn't quite work out how or indeed why.

I have bought and sold here many many times over the years and never left feedback as I visit via Tapatalk and I don't think I have the option.

FWIW I have never checked someones feedback before buying from them. It's not too difficult to work out who is here to make money and who genuinely wants to contribute.

I buy from regular contributors and I have always paid by F&F, not because I have been asked, but because I chose to as I trust the seller.

I have never had a problem with anything I have bought.

So far I haven't had any issues here, or any other wet shaving forum/facebook with trust and I always pay F&F.
Never bought from a complete stranger on the forum though (minimum post count or something like that). I know I'm at risk, but if I'm willing to take it there's no one to blame if something goes wrong. I trust we are all gentlemen and this is not such a huge community and in case something DOES go wrong 2 people can agree to share the cost or work something else out.

Anyway, The fee isn't for nothing. It's for buyer protection. If you want it, as a service I think it's ok someone pays for it. Who should pay - I don't know what is fair. Maybe 50/50.
If you pay with online banking you would also pay for a bank charge, especially if you're buying international payments both the buyer and the seller have charge. Comparing the PayPal fee with that is miniature.

My main issue with PayPal is I have to use my card and it always takes me some other fees for using cards, whatever the name is. But I have no way of paying otherwise do I?! (I can only have a balance if I sell, but I mostly buy :D :D )

100% agree Wayne! Real problem on EBay that one. Charge you £4 so you assume it will be a small parcel, then they've sent it for 90-odd pence as a letter!
Although I've never encountered this with a forum sale, I frequently experience this on eBay. I query it with a seller if the p&p seems exorbitant after I've received an item for the lowest possible postage in recycled packaging.

One time, a seller cheerfully admitted that it's how he makes extra money on a sale. I stated that I consider this a cynical and dishonest practice, and invited him to refund me the additional profit he had made at my expense. He quickly became less cheerful and increasingly belligerent. It's the only time I've left a negative feedback in 17 years of trading on eBay.
