Cold water shaving

Pleased to see that I'm not the only cold water shaver. My skin feels so much better for it. As for the winter McKinney, I think it feels even better as your skin feels tighter with the extra cold. I get far fewer weepers with the CWS

if it's warm or i can't bothered getting warm water then i have a cold shave. i haven't noticed extreme benefits but it a nice change - warm water feels more luxurious and i think softens the brush better.

My last half dozen shaves have been with cold water. I much prefer how firmer and tighter the skin is for the razor. I also think that not sweating under the lather helps as well.
I am finding that you need a little bit of a wetter lather when using cold water.
Much less irritation and redness is enjoyed!

I've got to say that I enjoy the luxury of a warm Shave but I definitely get where you're all coming from. I have sensitive skin and it really helps also there's nothing better than a cold Shave on a warm day with some denali. Wonderful stuff

For the last 3 days I have been having evening shaves (quicker to get to work in the morning meaning i get another hours worth of overtime!) and for the first 2 i used cool/cold water and it repeated the experiences I had when shaving in the mornings. Today I had a hot/warm water shave and did not enjoy it as much. I did however, throw on some Thayers lemon and that made every thing all nice again!

It may work, but soap has an easier time cleaning/prepping/lathering in hot water from what I have read & per my experiences. I do do a cold rinse in the shower as a final step after shaving. Besides, half the World would kill to have hot potable water so why not enjoy one of the perks of civilization? Next thing you know you'll be getting rid of Internet & cable TV. ;)

Still loving the cold water shaving but summer is here in UK so I have started putting a frozen bottle of water in the sink to get desired effect. The colder the better for me. On a side note, I have recently go a Parker Variant and it is a wonderful piece of engineering and a great shave

Blade sharpness is another by-product of shaving with cold water. If you recall the droning tone of your science teacher, you'll recall that metal contracts when it cools. This innocuous chemical reaction causes the molecules in your blade to contract, giving it a keener edge.

Is this meant to be serious?
