Cold shaving lathering

From the link:

The potential for longer blade life is intereating. I do note that the cold shave is very refreshing. Like the enthusiast above not sure if I'd do it in the winter as well though.

I'm sold on blooming now....

Thanks all, always interesting to hear from others.

I've not found any difference in lather cold or warm water. I only cold water shave now.
Local water is extremely mineral laden, filtered through chalk hills. Therefore, I have to load all soaps quite keenly so maybe it is too subtle a nuance for me to notice.
I did ask Sharon of NSS if cold or hot water would make a difference & the reply was " not really".

I am working my way through a 50 pack of Treet carbon and didn't use anything else for the last three month. The blades last four shaves in the Krona before replacement.

Last four weeks only cold water shaves with Ingram and the blades still only good for four shaves.

Hi Shemen

Are they quite mild? I've never heard of them? More for the shopping list....

Hope your day went well.

Mark

The Treet carbon blades comes under few names, Classic, New Edge, black something and Silver.

All the same to me and in a mild shaver like a Slim Twist or the Krona the shave is super smoth, every time. Similar results from some of the Russian made Gillette blades.

Thanks, I've never heard of them ......I'll try them out sometime if I can find them in the UK. ( means I'm off to amazon now).

Best regards

Mark

I gather some soap-paste onto my brush, slap that on then add water incrementally. Never failed for me!
Sure, there's all sorts of way to do it - I just found over the years that this one works best for me. Stubble picks up the soap much better than the bristles, so you just need a few seconds to rub it over - and then lather away!
Synth is the key though, that never worked as well with naturals (since they absorb the moisture and you need way more product and water for the same results).
