Got a couple of Zippo's. Nice, tactile and things that flame are always awesome. I do like old dunhill and Ronsons they just look so retro cool. They should make a Vape machine - I'd buy it.

Been trying to find a lighter I'd like and been predominantly looking at Ronsons and Zippos (holy cow, is there a design that has NOT been on a Zippo? 
). Since I'm cheap and want something for below ten bucks I'm looking at used ones which is normally my preference anyway.
There are 'lighter forums' out that with more information about lighters than I thought was in existence.
Being stuck in bed for a few days now with a nasty cold so got some extra time on my hands to zip around and see what's out there.

There's a couple of shaving soaps that are made to smell just like petroleum/gear lubrication - supposedly some are quite good.

So in bed, running a fever and eating Singaporean style soup (basically dumplings and bok choy) I decided I needed a lighter before X-Mas.
Narrowed it down and down down...until I had a handful of 'around $10 lighters' and picked the one that seemed like the best deal. It ended up being a Zippo (to my surprise).
It even come with patina and is supposedly ready to go
I rather like the 'worn' look and if that saves me some money even better

Dumb question: is the only difference with a pipe lighter that the flame comes from the side of the lighter as opposed to from the top of it?
