Gentlemen, I am a suck...err... I extremely favour citric scents, especially in summer... and I have had news about this LE LABO Bergamote 22 EdP.

Looks really nice... but at £120 for 50 ml... I'd like more opinions... and time to save for the necessary funds...

Anyone has ever tried... or at least smelled it?

Thanks!

I too like my citrus but my three favourites don't have much staying power:
Atkinson's Gold Medal, Alvarez Gomez and 4711
Any suggestions?

Agree... 4711 is nice but does not stay really...

I use Alvarez Gómez Barbería... longer staying power than the ordinary one.

Then I use Acqua di Parma, Verbena L'Occitane, Acqua di Genoa, Santa Maria Novella Classica (no staying power!)... Did I mention I like citrus...?o_O

Tom Ford Neroli Portafino. I've just received sample of a copy of this and it's heavy on neroli (surprise, surprise).

Edit: If you want a cheap and cheerful orange blossom smell, deviating slightly from the citrus accords and getting a bit of green/floral in there, Monotheme Agrumi Di Sicilia is nice! Can be bought from M&S for about £18.

Have you checked Fragrantica @Useless shaver? You should be able to find some alternative fragrances there. I think Rob AKA @Blackmass was also looking to some alternatives a while back, so he may be able to help.

I'm a big fan but only tried a sample. Like yourself the price is prohibitive at the moment. I did start a thread on Basenotes asking for budget friendly alternatives. I must admit I haven't tried any of the fragrances recommend on the thread yet. It's on my list to do….

Here's where I can bought my sample from (highly recommended site) https://www.fragrancesamplesuk.com/collections/le-labo/products/le-labo-bergamote-22

Anyone who likes citrus based scents will love Mancera Cedrat Boise. It's so good I bought a bottle, great performance too.

This is the only designer I have a real hankering to buy at the minute. I had a small sample before and abso-blood-lutely adored it! :D I can see why @Bandito pulled his ad for it not too long ago ;) Definitely a keeper. Lasted all day and some on me and had more compliments than I could shake a stick at! :D

Thanks, Rob. I'll have a look.. I usually stay away from too expensive fragrances (more or less), but this one caught my eye... Obviously we all have good taste... but I don't have the money now!

I actually flogged it elsewhere - nice stuff but I'm downsizing (in a roundabout kinda way), and there was no interest here
