April 2017 Acquisitions

Chinese Futur Clone - I'm assuming it's the same as the Malaysian one which is having a lot of interest at the minute! :D Looks nice. Some obvious tooling marks but well put together at a glance and the numbers are actually chronological. May test-drive tomorrow.
4711 Original - snapped up for cheap (well, cheaper than normal) on a popular auction site. It's less lemony than I remember but smells nice all the same. I can see the likeness between it and Wickham's Citrus Musk. I think I prefer musk, but this isn't bad for £6 delivered with a pack of 4711 scented wet-wipes...

We will see when someone has the Malaysian item in hand whether the 39g listed weight is an error. I assume so.

I would assume so, also. As per the 'Chinese Futur Clone' thread, mine has weighed marginally over 96g. They're both listed as QShave adjustable razors, so they should be the same. At least, the branding is the same.

Found a Personna DE razor in a house clearance skip. It has an Aluminium handle but the head and base plate feels like chrome or nickel plated(I may be wrong). Cleaned up very nice and it's in immaculate condition. It's 3 piece razor, quite similar to Aluminium handled Gillette Tech with square head design. It's British made. Will give it a go sometime this week.

image.jpg These landed today all the way from the U.S. with thanks to fellow forum member @dodgy aka Martin for his generosity, I received a PM out of the blue a few weeks ago asking if I would like to try some vintage NOS blades after he saw a post from me asking someone about the Personna 74 blades he was using. I shall be getting stuck into these over the next few months. Thanks again Martin, top man. :)

Let us know how The Emperor stacks up to Fine Platinum, would you? Be a dear. ;)

It just so happens I have the original Aventus on my left hand and Emperor on my right. I put Aventus on a few hours ago and Emperor on 20 minutes ago. It's not even close TBH.
Save your money and stick with Fine's Platinum, it's A LOT closer. Let's hope it does a better job as an aftershave than a clone.

You don't happen to have any Al Haramain L'aventure on your 3rd hand? :D It's the clone I'm most tempted by as an EDT. Fine Platinum is lovely but I seem to become nose blind to it after about an hour...

You won't be disappointed with L'VENTURE , it's great, I've just used the last of mine a few days ago but will be buying more. :)
