Anybody on here do home brewing?

I'm also an avid home brewer! My wife bought me the basic startup kit a few Christmases ago and I started out brewing the 2 can kits and I found that the Festival kits gave the best results.
I then moved swiftly on to building my own mash tun and brew pot etc and started playing about with recipes. (I've also dabbled with BIAB 'brew in a bag' which is something I'd like to get more into.) The trouble is, brewing from grain takes much more time. But the end result is much nicer than any kit.
I've also brewed 'turbo cider' and wine from kits, which my wife loves!
The best advice I could give is... find your local home brew shop and talk to the owner. The advice they can give you will be priceless. Advice you'll never get from Tesco or Wilkinsons or any online retailer.

That's exactly what I do, there's a guy who's done it for years and he really helped me out with kits, I think myself eventually I'll get proper into it, but for now the kits are great, bottle condition them and give to my friends :)

Yes, the kits are great and I still brew from kits as well. I've just done the Festival New Zealand Pilsner. Bottled it about 3 weeks ago. It's really good! [emoji106][emoji482]

Any experience with Belgium type? New Zealand pilsner sounds good

May have a look at the pilsner

Not a true pilsner though... since it uses an ale yeast rather that a lager yeast for simplicity (lager yeast needs to be kept at a much lower temperature for fermentation), so technically a pale ale I guess.

I need to make another, a stout I fancy, probably left it too late to be ready for Christmas, if I start maybe next week..

I was actually going to have another go at Stout. Was thinking of using two kits & malt next time because the other I did was just from one kit with brewers sugar.Wasn't very good to be honest.Ritchies 'simply' export stout:(

Muntons was the stout the local guy in my brewing shop said to try

Never tried Muntons.I can imagine it was pretty good though? Mine just came with the 'kit package' so it wasn't up to much.Saying that Jon,I cracked it open two weeks before it was ready lmfao lol
