I just pulled the trigger on one of these from e bay, it looks as though the cat is out of the bag with regards to the red boxed ones now, with some of the stones being priced north of £40, the yellow boxed ones are still going cheaper though.

Had a second shave with the test razor this morning and before use i stropped it on CroOx for 15 laps and then FerOx for 20 laps then leather for 70 laps, the result was excellent, smooth and sharp and a sublime shave.

I quite like that handle, though doubt ill buy the razor, Gillette have had enough cash out of me, and i generally only go for open comb DE's these days. I'll try a tuck of blades though if i see them on a shelf near me.

+1 for pasted strops, i find they really help to finish an edge. That said personally i'd add a couple of dozen laps on 1 micron lapping film between the 16K and CroOx, it's cheap to try as well, about £3 a sheet that can be cut into 3 or 4. I have found that with advice on honing there is a...
