    Lime Cream Fans Unite

Should finally be trying this shortly. Ordered one last year from eBay which never arrived & was refunded. Had to go into town & buy a tub of T&H WIL in desperation. I mean I like the stuff, but the whole point of this is me trying out a different lime cream each time for a good while, so it was...

    Compact discs and players

I still proudly play CDs. I think I’m one of very few still holding a torch for them. I don’t want my playing of music to be reliant upon an internet connection. I know a lot of people love vinyl and fair play to them, but I’ve heard so much on music chat forums about problems with brand new...

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

I think I’ve found a decent solution today in The Range. A rare example of a mirror with a base that’s quite narrow, but still has some heft to it. This is pretty heavy so is unlikely to be knocked over easily, and is held in place by screws rather than crap plastic lugs. Really pleased with...

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

Thanks but if I shaved in front of the bathroom door, I'd be nowhere near the sink!

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

This is the sort of thing I'm looking for. . . pedestal mirror with a rectangular base (not square or round) with a bit more heft to it, which may stay put if it gets knocked by the blind, rather than be knocked into the sink...

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

Thanks. Maybe one of those coming out of the side of the cabinet would work, just not sure if the cabinet walls are thick enough to take the screws needed

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

Could be tricky. To the left is a shower screen, if it went on the tiled wall on the right, the cabinet itself would be in the way. Not sure about drilling into the tile anyway, think I’d prefer something freestanding if possible in that limited space

Shaving in limited space - mirror solution needed

Just throwing this out there. . . In my last house I was blessed with a wide & deep tiled area in the bathroom for putting my mirror and shaving gear on. Now I am in a bigger house yet with a stupidly small bathroom. Whilst I can handle less space for gear whilst shaving, the mirror thing really...

    Lime Cream Fans Unite

No post for nearly a year in here. I was meant to put this up in July but never got around to it. It was meant to be an outgoing / incoming pic, but the delay means I’m almost through them both. Will post what’s up next when it arrives. . . Piccadilly Shaving Co. Lime Very nice pleasant lime...

    What are you listening to?

Only one play in (too much music, not enough time!) but enjoyed it very much. I’ve had Playland on in the car this week and love it. His band are great, I particularly love the bass tone. Bass often gets buried in the mix on albums, but on Johnny’s solo albums it cuts through nicely and is more...

    March 2022 Acquisitions

Haven’t posted in these for a while. My purchases have been quite minimal, only buying creams, pre/post etc as needed. That said, I have a weakness for a nice synthetic brush. As I haven’t bought one for over a year, and had some money sat in my PayPal account, I thought I’d splash out. The...

    SOTD : Saturday 12th March - Friday 18th March 2022.

Thanks. Looks nice, I prefer the blue though. Wish I'd spotted them at the time. What is the knot like?

    SOTD : Saturday 12th March - Friday 18th March 2022.

Holy cow, that brush! Just googled it, the result showed it as a 'Black Friday Special' but the link just took me to Simpson's home page and the brush was nowhere to be found. Was it only available for a few days do you know?

    Music streaming services

I understand from what I've read that the likes of Spotify pay an absolutely puny amount of money to the artists. I get the convenience thing, but I am a 90s kid and after moving from cassette, never strayed from CDs. I still think they are great, even with the current vinyl revival & obession...

Tips for first time knot change

Thanks. Stupid enough to have a go, but at least not stupid enough to try with something I was precious about !

Tips for first time knot change

Thanks for the tips everyone. But after a failed attempt to do this, I think I’ll leave well alone from now on. The knot glues were stubborn on both handles, eventually I just did the ‘mole grips and twist’ option on the knot I wasn’t bothered about losing. Then I went back to the other brush...

Tips for first time knot change

Thanks. No they are just black / clear handles. How do I do this then? Pan of hot water, then the brushes in some kind of bowl inside the pan? Then clean the brush cavity & knot bottom, and stick down with 2 part epoxy?

Tips for first time knot change

Thanks. Perhaps it’s best to not bother then.
