Cheers @Rohleder , my parents brought me back 3 tubes of kapo shave cream and a bottle of kapo aftershave lotion, they have a place in Bulgaria, it's not as common in Bulgaria as it once was according to the man in the shop, he said it was more common when the Russians were there.

After reading around on the forum I saw someone recommend the kapo range. Well my parents happen to have a place it in Bulgaria so asked them to pick up some stuff. 3 tubes of the shave cream and a bottle of the aftershave lotion. Tried both today, very nice indeed

It's a lovely razor, it was either that or the 6s but with the 6c you change the plates, gun metal is really nice and something different than my usual

Matt can suggest an open comb DE, I've recently purchased a few new razors. The fatip picollo is a great razor for only 20 quid. I normally use it with 2 days growth and find I'm not doing as many passes as with the Edwin 89.

What blades are you finding works best

Right little update. I've had 2 shaves so far with the fatip picollo. Set up was Fatip, new polsilver blade, and used Taylor of old bond Street with aloe vera shaving cream. I don't know if it was the fact the polsilver although new wasn't sharp enough, tugged at times even with no pressure...

Yeah don't have them blades sadly, I've an astra, polsilver or persona

The new fatip is waiting at the post office to be collected, looking forward to trying that out

That's the reason I'm going with the Fatip, I will often haven 2 or 3 days growth when I'm off work so this should be spot on for that purpose, will be a few weeks wait for the 6c but looking forward to, the gunmetal looks very well.

Just an update, I've ordered 2 razors so will go over the 50 budget. I'm going to leave of the vintage for now I've ordered a Fatip Piccolo & Rockwell 6c. I'll try these and see how they go for me. Thanks for all the advice and information throughout the thread much appreciated.

Can't really fault customer service at Edwin jagger, new head arrived today with a 5 pack of derby blades, a Sandalwood shaving cream sample and a Sandalwood aftershave lotion sample.

Why do I get the feeling that having started de shaving 3 1/2 years ago and only having 1 de razor in that time that I'm going to have at least 5 by the end of the week and the 50 quid budget spent a few times over lol

Where is the 6c available for that price?

Just had a quick look think I'd be doing extremely well to get a fat boy for 50 quid in good condition, about 80 quid plus delivery (import duty also) seems to be the going rate for a good/v good, others are like you say going for nearly 200

If I go for the clone I'll just stick with a personna blade and no pressure, if it's not for me, is not huge money spent, anyone I've got into DE shaving I've always recommend a mild razor like the DE89 until they get the itch to try something else

Appreciate all feedback good and bad, and I know everyone's experience will differ. Might order a futur clone to try out they are cheap anyway. The Fatip also seems like an inexpensive razor that gives decent results.

Yeah that was one that caught my eye, the Rockwell does look like a nice bit of equipment but a nice bit over my budget. How does the Merkur Progress compare to a Gillette adjustable?
