    JUST ONE RAZOR

FaTip Piccolo, but I'd hide my Slim where only a full body cavity search would find it, and hope I got away with it. After removing the blade, naturally...

Any blades you won't buy again?

Bic Astor - had these in a sample pack and they were dreadful. Feathers - just not prepared to pay the premium for a supposedly sharper (but rougher) blade. Personna Lab Blue - normally I will happily get five shaves out of a blade, but these were rough and tugging by shave number 3.

    Want to try SE

Are you only looking for modern razors, or would you consider vintage? The only modern SE I've tried is the RR Hawk but I PIFed it as it was too mild and the blade width made it difficult to manoeuvre. The Schick injectors are very easy to use and easy to get into tight corners - the E3 is the...

    Gillette 7oclock yellow blades

They're my favourite blade, bar none. A perfect combination of sharpness and smoothness for me.

    Shopping for an adjustable

I don't think there's anything to choose between the Slim and the Fatboy in terms of shave quality, but the Slim will set you back a lot less. Plus it's the world's coolest razor because James Bond used it in Goldfinger.

    Is there life after OSP?

I hear this a lot about MWF, but personally have never struggled to get a good lather. I love the scent, too.

How long is a blade usable?

For me: DE = 5 days. SE = 7 days. Injector = 10 days. I could push some DE blades a bit further, but it's easier for me to have a set routine with each type of blade.

    palmolive stick DISCONTINUED !!!!

It would have been rude not to pick up a few when I was last in Wilko, even though they've hiked the price by 50%. I now have 12 - should I stop yet?

How many of you struggle going against the grain?

First post in many months (l-o-n-g story). I struggled with ATG on the neck for a while, but now do it daily with no problem. It's a combination of preparation and technique - I spend a few minutes making sure the beard is really well prepped with hot water and a lot of brush action. I have a...

    Where Are the Injector Shavers?

Thanks for the tips. Probably a stupid question...the Prolines come without a key for the Injector, so how do you get the blade into the razor?

    Where Are the Injector Shavers?

My E3 is a regular in my rotation ever since I got it earlier this year. I sometimes think that if I'd discovered injectors before DEs, I might never have bought a DE. I also have an E2 and an I that I picked up on a recent visit to the US. I think the I might be a bit mild, though. I have a...

    How many shaves per blade

It's five and out for me. A couple of my blades would go longer, but it's easier for me to deal with all of them in the same way.

Can you name anything that youngsters of today won't know?

I can remember much of the above. To this day I can still do mental arithmetic in £sd. As children, we had to memorise the family Co-Op divi number as we were often sent out to get fags for our parents. Another of our jobs was to collect the coupons from the cigarette packets and bundle them...

Review - RazoRock Hawk SE Razor

I have it, and use it with the FeatherPro blades. It's one of the most stylish razors I own, but not one of the best. It's ridiculously light and I would prefer a bit more heft to the handle. The shaves are smooth and comfortable, but I find the blade length a bit too long to manoeuvre as I...

    Open combs

I shave daily and prefer OCs. By and large, I get closer shaves (important) plus I think they look über cool (less important). The Fatip Piccolo is my favourite razor of all time, smooth, efficient, and nickel-plated brass for not very much £. As for vintage, I prefer Old over New by a...

    Kai Blades

I don't like them. I find them quite rough and uncomfortable, and they shave no better than blades that cost a quarter of the price. Blades are such a personal thing, so YMMV.

    slant razors

Not at all - they're efficient and smooth. To be respected, like any razor, but not feared.
