I am thinking of getting the Blackbird but am having a hard time deciding between the SB vs the OC version. I have used mostly SB razors but also enjoyed my OC's as well, including the Timeless 0.95 OC and a Fatip grande. I do have a coarse beard and need 3 passes plus touchups to get a close...

No problem--I had the same concern when I saw someone list them as 58 mm, but this was an error as noted, as they are 50 mm. Great blades! Smoothest of them all IMO.

Please note that the Schick Proline blades (P-20 and P-30 are the same blade but sold in packs of 20 and 30 blades) are 50 mm long not 58 mm (same as Feather AC and Kai blades) and definitely fit in the General razor no problem.

I have a version 2 One Blade and I love it as well! I agree with your assessment, as do many others including Steve the Daily Shaver from You Tube. The only other razor that gets me this close a shave with the same level of comfort is my Rockwell 6S on plate 4, which I love as well.

I find the Schick Proline blades (which fit all the AC style razors) are smooth as butter yet very sharp. These are a game changer IMO and while not as widely available as the Feathers and Kai's should be tried to be believed. IMO they are smoother than the Kai milds.

I used the brass General this morning with a Schick Proline blade (first time using these) and I can confirm these are the smoothest AC style blades you can use!! They are still nice and sharp but this was a winning combination. Even smoother than a Kai mild. I'm impressed.

I had a great shave with the brass General this am using a Kai mild (fits on perfectly with slight resistance upon removing it) and Ghost Town Barber shave soap (love that scent!!). Heavier weight seems to improve the efficiency over the aluminum model, but they both shave great. BBS was had...

I also find that with the AC style SE blades that stropping them while in the razor on the forearm helps smooth them out further (strop only in the direction opposite of shaving).

I received my chrome Hawk yesterday and shaved with it this morning with a Kai mild blade. It is much lighter than I expected, especially when comparing to iKon El Jefe, where it feels feather light in comparison. Despite this, the Hawk shaved like a dream and I achieved BBS in my usual 3 passes...
