looking for an alternative 3-blade "cheaper" to gillette / wilkinson sword ...

I used to love these cartridges, but for whatever reason, I feel that they are using cheaper blades then they used to. and the luby bit just seems like it isnt going to do much lubricating. Not like how I remeber it at all. In fact the last excel blades I used , the luby bits had a tiny bit...

looking for an alternative 3-blade "cheaper" to gillette / wilkinson sword ...

I have a fusion proglide, its a great little razor, and for whatever reason, i dont get a good shave ... perhaps the five blades are packed very tightly or something. And when I speak of thinner, I mean the breadth/height sort of thing. So if you were to put the cartridge down, blades side faced...

Ok thanks very much - this brand new white one in box has all the adaptors? Is this something you are interested in selling? Or you'd rather hang on to it?

Thanks guys. Burgundy, thanks, really interesting, but the feather has its own F-System and I'm I'm trying to go for generic-ish, so will give that one a miss. The Trac II on youtube -seems very difficult to mount the blade (Slide in) and the head doesn't seem to swivel ; also seems hard to...

looking for an alternative 3-blade "cheaper" to gillette / wilkinson sword ...

Hi, I've got a gillete fusion with 5 blades, and to be honest, I think five blades is too big, I cant quite get to the bit between the chin and lower lip. Before that, I've always been a twin blade Sensor guy. But I have noticed that the twin blades do not seem to be top quality. So I'm in the...

Best and worse blades you've used?

Still going thru my connaught sample pack, but so far, Gillete yellow 7oclock sharp edge are the best. Lords are not bad either. As for the baddies (so far), Derby, Astra, Feather are getting nil points.

Helping A Friend In Need Of A New Direction

Great story! The stuff I bought I got posted to work (no one at home ) and one guy expressed a mild interest in it, especially when I told him how much the blades were; however, he also shaves his head (going bald) and therefore uses mach3 turbo. Shame. If it wasnt for his head, I think he'd be...

My first "proper" DE shave - debateable.

Brilliant, well that all sounds very helpful from ALL of you, thanks v much. Sorry, forgot to mention: I also did get Connaught's sampler pack - for some reason, I read somewhere (in this forum) that some people liked Derby, and since it came included with razor ... etc Right - I can see that...

My first "proper" DE shave - debateable.

Not first time ever - i tried shaving with the black wilkinson plastic razor (fiver, boots) - but didnt really enjoy. So, got my brand new Edwin Jagger DE89 (DE8911DB5), chrome plated. It came with some Derby blades, so I fitted the blade. It looks beautiful! Also ordered a new shaving...

    happy new year all..

Thanks: I did notice that DE89 and EJ89 seem to have thumbs up on this site, so will almost certainly go for it. Will also check out Connaught - excellent. [hr] Thanks, very nice, will check it out. I do love a cool name! [hr] Thanks very much. Its a real shame that badgers or...

    happy new year all..

.. and what better way then to get back into the real world of shaving. I'm usually a Gillette sensor man, and i tend to use Bodyshop shaving cream, with a bodyshop brush. Its not a bad shave, too be honest. Bodyshop did once sell razors, and blades (made in usa) but I dont think they sell...
