    Vintage Razor Blades

Some great vintage blades out there. Of those I've tried my favourites are Lodz Polsilver, Gillette "Swedes", some of the English Wilkies. I've bought them at reasonable prices or inherited. I wouldn't spend over the odds on them. Lots of good modern ones to choose from too.

One year into DE shaving - help!

I agree with the advice to visit the doc's n lay off the shaving while things hopefully heal up. Running a blade over already aggravated skin is best avoided. Once things have calmed enough to try shaving again I'd keep it simple - lather up, shave, rinse. No pre or post - by n large healthy...

Best way to clean shaving brushes?

I give mine a soak in Borax solution, maybe once or twice a year. Seems to do the job.

    Palmolive Shave Sticks

No longer on the shelves of the local Morrisons, but remains available from the local independent chemist. I expect some supermarkets that carried it are bumping it aside in favour of trendier gels or some such guff. Long may it remain in production! Brilliant stuff.

    Mild and more agressive razors.

I like my OCs but I also like to use a Tech or adjustable sometimes. The key to being kind on the skin is good technique and not overdoing it whatever razor's in hand.

    Razor Acquisition Disorder

I've settled on a pretty tight set up really. Razors and brushes I wasn't overly keen on were all moved on. Managed to avoid the acquisition disorders. At the moment I've got: 6 razors, 4 of which were inherited. Old Type, New, 2 Techs, Super Adjustable, Sensor. Rotate through them as the mood...

As above chaps. Razor has some pitting and tarnish and has, at some point, lost the last half cm or so from the end of the blade. Someone's tidied it up so it's now just a slightly shorter blade. Might actually make it quite good for detail around moustache, sideburns etc. if brought back to...
