Anyone using one of the razors/blades by postal contract.

Like Harry's.....(admin please delete this if I've contravened any forum rule regarding advertising). I'm currently quite happy to use my de razors and buy my de blades from online market places. Does anyone use Harry's or any other postal themed contract companies and can speak of their...

    'Hard' water areas and soaps

No problems with Arko for me......i've been using it for the past 2 years. But I fancy something new and was wondering if some soaps are better suited to hard water.

    'Hard' water areas and soaps

Are there any specific soaps that lather well in hard water areas of the country......or do you just have to work a bit harder to lather up?

    Time for a new soap?

Have got my eye on Proraso for sensitive skin (white tub). Im hoping that it's a soap but if it's a cream then so be it....i'll still use it.

    Time for a new soap?

Gonna go retro and get a Palmolive stick. (Just hope they haven't tried to 'improve' it by giving it a new modern day formula).

    Guitar amps

Don't know much about these new fangled amps that people are referring to in this thread. I'm still using a 1971 Kustom 20 watt combo amp. Nice clean channel and spring reverb.......but overdrive channel is meh. Still though it's good enough for my bedroom nurdlings.

The Most Aggressive Safety Razor Available To You.

There's a 12 setting? Lol, makes me think of the amps volume on Spinal Tap going up to 11.

Approaching 60.....and getting the urge to try a straight

Been hankering to try a straight razor. My DE shaving technique is by no means perfect....so I'm not averse to the sight of blood! Your task......should you choose to accept it......is to 1) Talk me out of it................or 2) Give me advice (that maybe also talks me out of it). Thank you.

    All I want for Christmas........

A very generous offer sir. Unfortunately I have to decline. A sample pack is winging it's way to me as I type. Thank you.

    All I want for Christmas........

Two years of using Derby blades and Arko soap. Surely I've paid my dues to the shaving gods. New year.....new blades.....new soap.

    All I want for Christmas........

Only because I acquired 100 of them 2 years ago or so and have been using them up. Surely....I'm due a change of blade.

    All I want for Christmas........

Still open to suggestions/choice hasn't been made yet. Might treat myself to a cheeky Crimbo sample blade pack.

    All I want for Christmas........

If your recommendation is good enough for Joe Everyman then it's good enough for me.

    All I want for Christmas........

........are some more DE blades. My bulk buy of Derby blades have run out leaving me with only a pack of Feather blades that I received courtesy of when I got my Merkur Futur about 4 years. The first and only time that I tried a Feather blade ended up in facial carnage! Any suggestions as to...

    Pure nostalgia

Just watched 40 minutes of tv that took me back to my childhood. It featured John Noakes and his time as a presenter on Blue Peter. Daft lad and daredevil. I still can't believe that he climbed Nelsons Column without a safety harness! This, and other memorable Noakes escapades were featured...

    Vintage gillette

I wouldn't mind using/owning a razor that was made in my birth year. Is there a system that can date when a razor was made? Serial numbers? Year of manufacture numbers?
