Eleven Shaves - One Gem Blade

Don't know if it's a special blade (out of a pack of 100 Connaughts Gem) - unlikely; or the Somersets Oil I've just started using but 11 shaves and could get another. I normally get 4 shaves max, have wire brush bristles and alter[/align]nate between hot/cold shaves. I've always used oil as...

5 Months down the Line. SE or DE ?

I got rid of the DE as just didn't suit my face. Try a cold SE shave - you'll never go back.

    Somersets Oil

Just discovered this oil - 99p in home bargains. Tried it under my usual cream - best shaves I've ever had. 1914 Supermax 3 Somerset Oil - Original (also do a tough beard and sensitive) Post - Proraso Sensitive Just realised wrong section.

Also Lea aftershave balm: really fresh feeling. Like Nivea but better - on me anyway.

    RIP Top Gear

Yes, yes and yes. Ans so am I. The programme was boring anyway. However one the best bits of TV ever - Clarkson getting pushed into the icy Fjord.

    Aeropress - Steel Filter

You won't be sorry - very 'clean' tasting coffee. Ex world Barista champ showing how to use it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48ics7oymw8 you can also invert it which makes it less messy, for me anyway.

First shave with an ER 1912

Great razor: my default. Try it with a cold water shave, followed by Proraso Pre-Post. You will become one with the blade in glorious song.

    WTB A Small Car

Morning all. Hope you can help us. Our daughter's car has just been written off, no one hurt thankfully, but having a baby, they need a replacement pretty quick. We'd rather buy private than a garage so if you, a family member, neighbour, colleague etc have or know of one for around £2000...

    Walking boots - which brands?

My first proper boots were Karrimor's and they never let me down - my son-in-law still wears them for work. I then bought a pair of Salomon's that leaked like a sieve, changed under warranty and the relacements ( GTX 4D) are brilliant. Hope you had a chance to try them on before you bought them.

Morning all Just upgraded from a point and click to a Panasonic GF6K Compact System Camera. I've found a couple of specific sites with decent resources but some of it is over my head so can you direct me to some good beginners resources? Many thanks Neil

    Rigid blades Vs Flexible blades

Like you, OP, I find I get far less irritation from more rigid, in my case single edge blades, than from a more flexible blade such as one of the DE's.
